Why make an offer to K2 minutes after the fighter agreed to fight someone else and agreed to be mandatory for a WBC unification in a megafight afterwards?
Having the Lemieux fight signed or announced doesn't matter. It's the fact that he could get Cotto or Canelo in a mega fight for tons of $$$ is what does. No way do they even entertain a way tougher fight against Ward for less money at a higher weight.. Boxing is obviously a business and his team made the smart business move but a bad move for us fans.

      Rough day for them, man.

They were basking in the glow of Golovkin's big drama show win over beastly Dwyan....Dominiqu.... Dominic Wade, and now the bombshell dropped that his best friend in the whole wide world is snitching on him over the Ward fight.

      That propaganda doe....

So at first you said the fight was agreed on and then you say Ward didn't know about it?

Lemieux PPV was announced on July 25th:

and the first time Ward talked about the offer to GGG was on September 15th:

        Weird huh?

Why did Ward keep quiet for almost 2 months. It is clear that the offer was sent after GGG announced the Lemieux fight.

Loeffler confirms that by the way:

A video interview with unbeaten super-middleweight champion Andre Ward has stirred up his rivalry with unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

Loeffler said the Roc Nation email was received hours after he’d already announced Golovkin’s fight with Lemieux at Madison Square Garden, with Roc Nation aware the World Boxing Council designated Golovkin (33-0, 30 knockouts) the mandatory challenger to a then-pending Miguel Cotto-Saul “Canelo” Alvarez title bout that will be fought Nov. 21. Roc Nation promotes Cotto.
        Gotcha.

Ward made the move to LHW and the plan is to fight Kovalev in probably the fight to determine who's the best fighter in the world..

I like GGG but if he doesn't get Jacobs,Canelo,or Saunders next then I'm not interested

          Thank you.......

Updated the thread for you with link that proves when the offer was sent.

I think deep inside you all know it was a clever move by Ward and you fell for it.

Not one person with a right mind would have accepted that deal.

Agreed and announced are two different things ******.

Roc nation disagrees and say the offer was sent before.

Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Go

The offer was also for the fight to take place the beginning of this year (we could have had Lil' Gina v Ward instead of Wade) so the Lemieux fight made no difference to the offer.

People seriously need to move on.

Ward rejected an offer from Golovkin back in 2012/2013 but Ward wasn't really fighting having his own issues etc. Fast forward a couple years and K2 rejected Roc Nations offer of a 1 year away type fight since they just signed to fight Lemieux and were expecting/hoping to fight Cotto/Canelo winner. Timing just wasn't right and Ward is at 175 now. Both have potential big fights coming up so focus on that.

Trust me, i focus on that, but the haters bring that issue up 24/7 and they didn't realilze that the offer was just a clever move by Ward and no one would have accepted such an offer.

Uh no. K2/GGG were under the impression they would be fighting Cotto/Canelo after Lemieux, being that he's mandatory and all to the WBC. Obviously didn't make sense to them to make a fight for "sometime in 2016" without even knowing the circumstances of Cotto/Canelo and the whole mandatory situation, which has always been the #1 priority for GGG.

                      Kovalev did.
