I understand why Golden boy would want it at 155, as it gives their fighter a better chance. Lets not forget Golden Boy is a business.

I might be wrong but did Canelo state before the Cotto fight that Cotto insisted on the 155 weight and he reluctantly accepted.

It actually is proven to be a BS as actions speak louder than words: Canelo paid $300k of sanctioning fees for WBC belt when Cotto didn't. If he did want to fight Cotto at 154 then he would not have been eligible for 160 title, and moreover wouldn't have paid $300k fees.

Let's be Sherlocks going forward. If the only reason Canelo fights Khan at 155 due to Khan's demand, then it is not necessary for Canelo to pay another $300k again, agree? So if Canelo plays the same story, then just monitor if he pays his part of sanctioning fees. If he pays, then it's the same BS story with Khan as with Cotto.

We've come full circle. Now everybody is starting to see GGG ducked Ward. I remember the GGG protection force used to say "Ward should move up and fight Kovalev". Well he is doing that. Now the Canelo protection force is saying GGG should've moved up and fought Ward
