Crawford's next fight is penciled for PPV, in a fight/matchup that isn't really worth being a PPV fight.

Wouldn't go as far as saying "love".

Business of boxing, tbh; Ward saw what it was, and he made the deal that he and his camp felt was needed to move things forward, betting on Ward's skills in the process.

If Ward gets pass his summer fight and topples Kovalev in the fall, the "business of boxing" will show up once again; under no further obligation to HBO, RocNation/Andre Ward will hit the open market and shop Ward's fights to the highest bidder.

Not unlike the Provodnikov deal, though likely at a significantly higher investment, I see Showtime laying out an offer on the table to bring Andre Ward and RocNation into their fold (Ward budgeted for the option of three fights per year, with RocNation also picking up a handful of ShoBox dates to develop some of their other prospects on TV with).

Mikey Garcia signing with Golden Boy Promotions would be a massive mistake, largely because Oscar no longer has the leverage to guarantee the TV dates; Mikey's best course of action, imo, is to follow a path similar to what Cotto has done with his career.

Keep Bryan Freedman(Mikey's lawyer and the guy who helped guide him through the lawsuit mess) on as attorney/adviser, and leverage the friendliness between his camp and Haymon's camp to ensure the opportunity for exposure across the Haymon-affiliated broadcasts. Base Garcia's entire fight operation out of SoCal/Vegas, and Garcia needs to make sure that he wins the fights he gets put in.

Thing is about promoters, theirs those like haymon/gbp/k2 who are all about opening new revunue streams and what that means is alot more exposure for their figthers, then you got top ranks/main events/dibella etc who are just happy making the profits out of the fight and events themselves. Top Rank dumb ass has his own top rank girls when tecate is paying him to have their girls theirs, dude is just stubborn (wont use dumb cause we know he aint)
... what has K2 done to try and open up new revenue streams, on how does Lou DiBella get left out of the conversation for folks trying to open up boxing?

DiBella has already put on 10 shows this year, put on 30 shows last year, has been the conduit for a lot of the Eastern bloc fighters getting to the US, has featured female fighters (and female boxing generally) in big spots on his shows, and has one of the most actively engaged social media presences of any promoter putting on shows.

If Ward was active then yes, but since he was not very active, I guess they wanted names.

Also in terms of money, Kovalev and GGG were cheaper.

It's not that hard to figure out why HBO would demand that Ward agree to fight Kovalev before signing a new fight deal. According to reports Ward declined fights against Stevenson, Bute, Froch 2, and instead has demanded HBO pay him top dollar to fight guys who were so laughable HBO declined to approve them as opponents. Heck one of the opponents Ward wanted to fight was declined by of all people the Nevada State Athletic Commission. From this it's easy to see why HBO would want Ward to agree to fight KOvalev in 3 fights or no deal. Wouldn't you do the same if you were running HBO?

And Bute never, declined the invitation to the Super Six. He was never invited.

According to what reports? The same people that slander Ward but won't sit down for an interview with him? I just touched on this topic the other day. The same ones that loved Ward when they were getting flown to his fights by Goossen now hate him.

Yea, HBO really had to worry about Ward fighting bums. Look at his resume. He has no history of fighting bums. FOH you sound dumb AF.

No mate, the reports that HBO declined guys like Sartison, Oosthuizen and Paul Smith as opponents for Ward.

No one is dis*****g Ward's talent or his resume before the Super six, what has happened is since the super six he's demanded high purses to fight opponents that were so awful HBO declined. It's why he had to fight Paul Smith on BET. It's why when HBO signed him to the 3 fight deal they made the stipulation that he had to agree to fight Kovalev. They wouldn't have done this if they didn't have issues with him before.

Again no one is denying Ward's boxing talent.

Well since Froch in the S6 4.5yrs ago, his best scalp is probably ERod? Maybe Wade level Barrera, factoring in the 3lb weight disadvantage?
