Golovkin gets handed the WBC 160 belt, the WBA calls the mandatory, and Jacobs/DiBella expedite the bid process to lock in the bout being pair with Santa Cruz-Frampton for the Barclays Center show at the end of July.

Look we all know wade had very little chance of winning, we all know golovkin would show far to much firepower for him and probably stop inside 5 rounds, we all know that wade was golovkins mandatory so he had to fight him or get stripped of the IBF belt...but what most of us don't see is how golovkin simply walks through you and takes your soul before knocking you out and he does this to fighters that would probably take canelo or saunders at least 9 or 10 rounds and be a around for a little while...there's a lot of posters on here that just hate on golovkin for some reason...maybe it's a floyd thing I don't know but none of you would bet against golovkin against any other middlweight in the world..even floyd should stay away..golovkin is to much of a beast for floyd and probably knocks him out inside 8 rounds.....he's to big and strong and I would not want floyd to take a beating when he has achieved so much in his career....for me it's more about canelo getting the hell out the divsion if he is not prepared to defend his belt against his mandatory ...it's a disgrace and shows a lack of respect or courage a champin should have...now if canelo knows can't beat him then that's fine....just give up the belt and stop pretending your something that your not....let golovkin have his belt he has waited so long for canelo can just drop down to the lower division ......nobody beats gennady golovkin at middleweight or super middleweight ...period

When was the last time that Golovkin tried to walk through a guy who was known to punch?

Even Lemieux, being what he is, led Golovkin to abandon the "Mexican style" nonsense and stay on his P's and Q's.

That reality likely has more to do with the matchmaking than anything; because, if he were to give Peter Quillin or Daniel Jacobs or Andy Lee an open shot like that, he's getting put to sleep.

It's a shame that the guys GGG has to face suck. The most fans can do is have hope in the champs and the belt organizations. Hey, If Mayweather-Pacquiao can happen then anything is possible.

I understand why so called 'elite' guys won't face him though... Not just because they are going to lose, its that they will get made to look very average. Alvarez/Jacobs are probably going to get knocked out (and look terrible) against GGG, and that is going to *** their 'number 1 in boxing' claims they feed us.

I enjoyed it, but it was a free HBO weekend and I wouldn't pay for that fight. We saw what we knew would happen.

Lara - would be a fun fight but I don't see how it's financially possible. Lara is getting 1m for Vanes and GGG just got 2m for this. Realistically were looking at 4m which HBO wouldn't put up and while I'd easily pay for PPV, I don't know how many buys it'd get.

Ward - complete duck by GGG and his team. I'd be more upset but Ward is chasing greatness by fighting Kovalev, and that's more of a 50/50 fight than Ward vs GGG. Ward schools GGG.

Canelo - duck by Canelo and his team.

BJS - duck and I don't even care. Not competitive.

Jacobs - GGG and his team haven't done anything to make this a duck but Jacobs gets smoked.

The MW division is just sad.

The Golovkin-Wade televised fight card had payouts of almost $3m; with the likely de-coupling of Golovkin and Gonzalez, the fight is rather easily made if Golovkin is willing to give up a bit of money to make things work ($1.6m to Golovkin, $900k to Lara, $500k to finance a quality co-feature)
