No, he just mentioned the guy who at this present time is the proven best at LHW. Does Beterbiev at this time beat Stevenson, Pascal, Bute or Hopkins? great prospect all the same.

DeGale, if handled right, could become a smw great and make tonnes of money/fans. He can unify against whoever the Jack/Bute winner is, then fight the new kid Ramirez or get in a fight with Groves and end his tenure as the best 168 pounder on the planet.

By that time, maybe LHW has sorted itself out and DeGale can fight one of the top 3 guys.

Having said all that, it seems that DeGale has put his career in the hands of Haymon and that may be a very bad move.

You clearly don't know about the fan he was drawing to channel 5 broadcasts in the uk and the fact, post olympics, he was a pretty big draw and media personality, before Groves derailed him.

He could easily be bigger than that, especially with the right opponents and management. Fighters with less skill and less likability have done more.
