Sounds like Algieri agreed to a ****ty split. It sucks, but it is what it is.

I don't agree with that and I don't think the promoter should bring it up. Especially since he was well compensated for his work in the past.
thats one thing your wrong abiu. promoters often take losses in the shirt-term on shows to get fighters work and build up their record and experience, so that they can get then big fighrs and make money as the end game

Question is would guys like Thurman have agreed to fight Spence for $650K? Which brings up another question. Which promoter do Thurman, Broner, Santa Cruz, etc., gets a piece of their purses, bearing in mind Haymon is not a promoter?

Algieri was the one headlining the card, not Spence. Meaning, Spence was a nobody before the fight.

so is he saying that joe was not upfront about the money that he had? how muck of the 650 do you feel that algieri should get?
yes, his complaint is that he didnt know the whole number was 650k until AFTER he had already agreed to the 325k.

As to how much he should get? I suppose thats up to the parties involved and their history together. Personally I find 50% to the promoter to be excessive, but someone else might not. Ultimately Algeri negotiated for a flat 325k, and it seems he got exactly what he negotiated for.

What I think would be a fair situation would be an ********* to the Ali Act that stipulates that under Provision of Services Agreements, where the "promoter" is not an active participant in the promotion (no work and no financial risk), they should be limited to no more than 25% of the incoming revenue.

                  Spot on!

And we all thought Bob getting 27% of Manny's purses was bad...
