Thats pretty awful 50% to the promoter. Algieri, after taxed and paying for camp and trainer must be walking away with very little. What is surprising is this issue was not addressed before the contract was signed. Wouldnt shock me if his promoter offered his lawyer a piece of the action to gloss over the details ad convince Algieri to sign. Either way no promoter deserves 50%. Fighters are the ones putting in the risk and work, their careers can be fleeting. Promoters will always find someone else to take profit on.

No matter what a promoter says in their own defence, the number one priority is that a fighter gets paid what he's owed for – as Algieri said, stepping in the ring and risking their lives. A promoter sitting behind their cushy desk for decades on end isn't the one who's going to get a brain bleed in the ring.

Deguardia did a "provision of services" agreement with Haymon, to provide the services of Algeri. It seems he was paid $650,000 or somewheres around that, because Algeri's $325,000 purse would be 50% of 650k.

It was not a joint promotion. Deguardia only got an "in association with" credit as a courtesy. It was a PBC event, promoted by Dibella

Chris should be directing his anger to his lawyer. Really, you sign on for a fight, go through a 8-10 week training camp, go through the fight and then bellyache about the amount of money you make? Sounds like his lawyer went through the Andrade school of business.
