That's another point, HBO isn't going to go beyond their means to get Lara over to fight Golovkin. And why should they? Considering Lara is not a draw, he has a 22-2-2 record and he's not a champion, and worst of all he went to a draw with Carlos Molina. The fight could only be on regular HBO, and it's a fight that won't likely generate much better views than the previous Golovkin fights. It's not like the fight will do 1.7 or 2.0M. You're looking at like 1.5 max. So HBO is probably thinking, what's the point?

HBO would have no problem bringing Lara over to fight GGG, if Lara is willing to accept what he's really worth. Not the inflated Haymon amount.

When fighters start accepting what they're worth against Golovkin, then the fights can be made.

But they are MW. Lara is a JMW and no one will give him credit for beating him. Like I said earlier kovo is a star because of his personality his wins but most important he got the chance to shine GGG isn't given the same opprtinuty. Had Jotto or Can't-Nelo given him the chance he would be huge but they are avoiding him like the plague. What's your excuse behind Jotto and Can't-Nelo not fighting him? You can't answer that

All Lara's had to do to get a GGG fight is move up an grab a MW strap. He could be where Wade is right now.

If Team Ward wanted the fight badly, they would have gotten it.

Instead it was their laughably unreasonable demands that got in the way...

The difference between Golovkin and Ward is that Golovkin knows when he's the B-Side and Ward does not, or rather he won't accept it because he's beyond delusional. Golovkin was willing to travel to fight Froch and accept B-Side money to face him, same with Chavez Jr. . Ward wasn't willing to do the same for the Golovkin fight.

Ward has a history of this because he basically did it with Bute.

The reality is Golovkin moving up to 168 to a take a 50/50 split is not a reasonable offer. Not when Golovkin blows Ward's attendance numbers out of the water, in Ward's home state btw which is beyond embarrassing, is far more active and he pulls in higher ratings.

So, if team Ward wanted the fight so bad, they would have accepted the B-Side offer. They didn't and the fault falls on them.
Are we still playing "A-side rules!!!"? With that flop of a PPV?

That was as shameless a duck as we've seen recently.

PPV or not, Golovkin still has better attendance numbers and he gets higher ratings. Therefore, he's the A-side.

case in point. Ward's last fight in his hometown had an attendance of 8,532. Golovkin's fight with Wade has already sold 16,000 tickets. Similar ticket prices and similar level of opponent. The Forum isn't even Golovkin's home base which is quite embarrassing for Ward if you think about it.

Golovkin's last fight with Lemieux had an attendance of 20,000.

Ward is responsible for the Bute fight not getting made, and he's also responsible for the GGG fight not getting made.

Forget A side/B side. One guy put in the work building his brand the past few years while the other didn't. So, when the guy who didn't work wants half the $ and the fight at his weight....What's so hard to get here?

Oh, so you are indeed playing A-side/B-side? Cool.

Glad to hear you're on board for the 155lb catchweight.

Now a catchweight fight against a chinny guy who isn't even among the 5 best,2 weight classes under.Every time that canelo has gone up against decent opposition that isn't past prime or undersized, its been close decisions,or white washes. There's really nothing to admire, and ward is only saying that to spite golovkin.
Canelo is a good fighter but I agree that Ward is definitely saying this to spite GGG.
