Greatness is different variables but I wouldnt favor anyone from 154-168 over a prime Jones. Skills and talent wise he is better than anyone IMO

IMO Roy couldve retired after Ruiz or Tarver 1 but pride and money gets in the way.....the first round of Tarver 2 was our last view of Jones with his complete confidence. Got hit with a shot he didnt see coming and his own shot landed first.
they hoped floyd would fight a prime threat but he didn't. prime cotto, marg, pac were all avoided. at age 35 roy could have avoided tarver and cherry picked until tarver lost or something but you are right roy had more pride and floyd had none.

Tarver never waited and refused to fight Roy fight like ODH, Shane and Manny did Floyd. Don't forget to point that out.

give it a rest man....for real...the act is past old.

yea Margarito was so great he lost to Daniel Santos, no names, mosley and every elite fighter he faced

Floyd is older than Cotto and Pac....You know why those fights didnt happen in the 2000s. Bob Arum didnt wanna put Cotto in with floyd when he was at 140 and Mosley had a toothache in 06, Manny was ducking drug testing and roach made that clear

you're a good poster but go straight "der der" mode when it comes to Floyd

oscar: Floyd was too small high risk low reward

Mosley: in the early 2000s he moved up and killed them meeting at 135 when they were just 5 pounds apart

Manny didnt want to take drug tests, then cut off dates, then a stadium etc

Jones stayed around too long and gave his haters what they prayed to see. Him lose and get knocked out

Judging a fighters career off what happens past 35 is ****** when back in the day guys were washed up by 30 or before

Ezzard Charles comes to mind....His record was like 90 something wins and 7 losses when he lost the title to Walcott and then goes on to fight manny more fights, end up with 25 losses, ko losses to people he would have dominated in his prime and losses to fighters he previously beat at or near his best.

Its sad to see, I hope jONES calls it a career. I dont want to see him get hurt, he is a great commentator, he is training fighters too.

It must be hard to almost be superhuman and one day wake up and its all gone and you can only use it in flashes. Pride is a bad MFer

SO now it has to be fair. according to you, when a fighter turns down the biggest payday he is ever offered that is a duck. You said this about Ward relative to Froch 2, Bute and Stevenson and you said it about Saunders when he turned down GGG.

WHy is it different when Manny did it?

This is the wrong thread for this so it's my last post about it. troll away daggum.
