That idiot Arum matched him up with Walters - who is a nobody and has developed into nothing special since then. Matching a lightweight against a bantamweight

Terrible matchmaking and the equivalent of boxing harakiri.

Thats because arum will not match him against anyone good without trying to screw him with an extension. Maybe he shouldn't keep punishing the guys that beat Donaire but reward them for winning.

That is actually a good point! Even fans did not give respect for it, instead he was labeled a "Hype Job" and was thrown away. Boxing has never been a sport that has been Loyal to its fighters and I'm not talking about just Promoters and Networks either, fans don't give a **** about fighters either

          A bantamweight?

Donaire moved up to 126 after the Rigondeaux loss.

It was Donaire who wanted the Darchinyan rematch at 126 and then fought Vetyeka for the title at that weight.

Donaire was the one talking about how comfortable it was to make that weight, and before the Walters loss he was talking about moving up in weight above 126.

That changed after the Walters knockout, but don't play revisionist history with this bantamweight talk.

The extension was signed before the Vetyeka fight.

It's the modern media age. You're only as good as your last moment, not even fight, just moment. After the Rigo loss, people have been talking about Donaire like he's ab um but he was once a p4p entrant and one of the very best in the lower divisions we've seen in a long time. Sadly, everything now is created in the form of hype. That hype is killed if you lose.

Fans are as bad as the networks and journalists in that regard.

Always been a Donaire fan. I never understood why he use to get so much hate and once he lost is like he got evicted from the premium showings.

True, Donaire is a perfect example of why GGG ducked Ward. If GGG took the Ward fight like Donaire took the Rigo fight, then GGG would have been exposed and the entire hype job that HBO set up would be for naught.
