They didn't forget about him. There were dozens of articles written about his inactivity

I'd also say that name value plays in boxing just like anywhere else. Canelo vs Kirkland (KO'd by Asian MW, hadn't fought in a year) is gonna garner more media attention than Postol vs Crawford is the reality. Name>Quality. So of course GGG is gonna get more media coming to his fights then Ward is.

Look at who was/wasn't there when Ward had an open interview during the Cotto-Canelo fight.

Certain ones weren't there but made it to the Kovalev invite only interview a couple of hours later. Held in the same area.

There's a lot of throwing rocks and hiding hands in the boxing media. As much **** as people give Dontaes boxing nation he'll say the same thing to your face as he does in house videos. He did that video a couple weeks ago criticizing Sanchez for saying they'll go down up for Froch & back down for Floyd but won't do the same for Ward. He was right back at Big Bear interviewing Loeffler last week. These writers talk bad about Ward and label him a "diva" because he wants to control his career. They did the same to Cotto. But notice they not doing the same to Canelo & gave Mikey Garcia a pass for doing the same thing Ward did. But if he signs with PBC they'll turn on him in a second

Bro don't make me do homework. Who's with Kov who's not with Ward besides Fat Dan I'm assuming? Quit being shy about what you are trying to say lol.

And I can see what you might be trying to say here, but lets not act like Roc Nation hasn't done a ****ty job during their promotional run thus far & it could easily be on them that Ward is getting more also rans & less names at his interviews. It could just be because people are more interested in the guys who can KO people. There are a lot of biases that the media have that are more about fans preferences which include simple things like being an exciting fighter, being a fighter who can KO people or be a fighter who says entertaining or funny ****. Ward is a low profile, gentle speaker who hasn't had one memorable fight from most fans POV & isn't the most exciting guy to watch & doesn't KO many guys. Maybe Kov just gets more clicks than Ward. In particular when Ward hasn't fought in awhile.

The media is responsible for building up stars and tearing them down. Kovalev has never been as popular as Ward. People like to downplay Ward selling out his hometown but there aren't many boxers who can even do that. Main Events had a big press conference last year about Kovalev new home being Vegas. His Vegas debut flopped. He can't even sell in Russia. They haven't been back to Vegas yet and they're talking about possibly fighting Ward in Oakland.

What I'm trying to say is #staywoke The boxing media plays favorites. Other sports have favorite athletes but the media is nowhere as biased as the boxing media. The man responsible for boxing at ESPN attends fights at promoters homes and has a picture of his favorite fighter as his Twitter profile pic. Steve Kim loved Ward when Goosen was flying him out St. Lucia to cover Ward's fights. But as soon as he left Goosen he turned on him. Look at Rafael's live tweets during the MayPac fight. He was saying how great and exciting the fight was. But days after it was over he changed his tune. Another one is the Stevenson-Kovalev when Stevenson went to Showtime. Back when it happened everybody said the same thing. HBO got cheap and played Stevenson by not locking him up. But now the narrative is that Stevenson ran to Showtime to avoid Kovalev. But you'll never hear them say Kovalev ducked Stevenson when they pulled out of the purse bid when he didn't even have an HBO contract at the time. He resigned with HBO after the purse bid. They call that good business. You gotta #staywoke to this type of stuff. That's why I love Twitter. Their editors can't proofread their tweets and their bias is on full display.

Not by Ring, but ESPN had him in their top 10. Same people who say Golovkin is a top 25 fighter of the last 25 years.

ESPN clearly DKSAB. I didn't agree with that ranking or the GGG ranking.

Barrera was ranked no lower than 8th by three sanctioning bodies. Name 9 LHW better than he was at the time.

There are 10 listed in Ring Magazine & Transnational Boxing Rankings as we speak.

That isn't to say Barrera is a bad fighter, but he just hadn't done anything to warrant being ranked in the top 10.

Sanctioning body rankings aren't really worth a carrot. You criticize Golovkin-Wade, well guess who made Wade his mandatory. He is also no lower than #8 with three sanctioning bodies.

Wade has never even fought at 160lbs. But you know what. I'm not even about to discuss this in this thread. This isn't about that.

Well yea I'd never disagree with that. I mean sometimes its amazing the nutty **** you see in boxing media. I mean Fat Dan is dogging professional boxers on twitter like some random guy with 5 followers telling George Clooney his film ******. Thats nuts & you'd never see that with a NFL media guy to a NFL player. Boxing is like a 3rd rate mainstream sport & it gets 4th rate unprofessional writers working in the industry might be the problem there.
