Why is it that boxing fans talk s.hit about fighters being financially smart. I get it, we all want the best fights to take place, but we can't criticize a fighter for making the best decisions based on finances. If a great athlete in any other sport gets over paid by a team ****** enough to pay, we never blame the athele for not turning down a big contract- why don't we feel the same for fighters? People give Danny a hard time for fighting salka- HE WAS OFFERED 800K!! Would you turn that down? In comparison, this past weekend spence made 280k, algeri 320k. I'm sure canelo will step up whenever he feels it makes sense FINANCIALLY. Until then, why rush if he's making 15mils+ for fighting welterweights.

"Canelo is by FAR the bigger draw on pay-per-view- which give HIM the advantage"

Team GGG STILL hasn't figured that part out.

GGG is 1000% CORRECT on this is 80% Oscar's decision. It's more like 90%.

Oscar also has Canelo wearing those fishnets now it seems.

GGG is the middleweight champ, always has been a middleweight. If Ward commanded PPV buys, you'd have a point. The option is 2 fold, Ward won't leave Oakland or fight overseas, GGG will fight anywhere.[QUOTE=CaneloMaidana;16630561]Refused to fight ward.

Lara-No "Nobody knows Lara. Monroe Jr is more well known. He's the Boxino champ. Lara would want to much money for the fight. But we didn't ask him how much he'd want for the fight. His manager hasn't contacted us'
Preach! It's so simple. If you want to call Canelo's bluff, just simply come out in the media and tell everyone that "I am willing to go to 155 for a chance to beat the lineal MW champion." Why did Hopkins chase Oscar? Why did Floyd chase Oscar? Why did Floyd agree to fight Cotto @ 154? Why did Pacquiao go to 147? Why did Canelo accept 152 for Mayweayher? Why did Amir Khan accept 155 for Canelo? Why is Ward chasing Kovalev? M-O-N-E-Y!!! If you don't understand "business" at age 34, then you're probably very ignorant, and someone will take full advantage of you, and as a boxer, you won't be the first!

This is coming from the same guy whose team said Ward didn't make financial sense.

Canelo is the one who's a businessman, doe.

Were GGG and Ward in the same weight class?
