Too bad he's not with haymon. His promoter is the one that negotiates for Algeria

Algieri also fought an entire different gameplan than most expected, he came in over confident and thinking Spence was untested and they tried to bully him, you can't bully Spence like you did Khan when you have no power. Algieri should have just boxed slick and from the outside and make Spence try to reach. Algieri and his trainer came in so over confident and paid the price why try and bully a big dude in spence, Algieri and Spence are pretty much identical in body and size and muscle, only difference is Spence has actual power.

Not sure if he is or isn't with haymon. But dealing with him he won't get any easy paydays. Too much too soon for him. Everyone considering him a benchmark against pacquiao

Coming off of a narrow loss, Chris Algieri was able to fight for almost $350k, in New York, in the main event, in primetime on terrestrial national TV (which likely help goose up the money he likely made off of sponsorships).

Maybe I'm not trying hard enough, but I can't think of another matchup that would've been easier for Algieri that would've gotten him that type of money or that type of exposure.

Why does he need to directly be with Haymon at this point, when he's already got a pretty good working relationship with him? Algieri, at this point, is a known quantity and a seemingly bankable fighter out of NYC.

He's gonna have to take a step back from headlining shows, but he's a solid co-feature guy for any big show that one could bring to NYC. With Algieri being a TV friendly guy for PBC (and Banner Promotions/Star Boing now having a relationship with Showtime), you can now re-establish him with some softer fights (Paulie, Devon Alexander, Aron Martinez, Robert Guerrero, Randal Bailey and a few others are all viable enough options).

Algieri doesn't look like he's good enough to rule at 147, but he could be the type of TV fighter, like Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, that fights simply grow to like watching fight.

Not a bad way to ride things out, before moving on with his other plans (heading back to medical school, being a TV friendly voice for subsequent PBc shows that could come to the Northeast, etc)

Because op is acting like Haymon put a gun on Algerias head and forced him to fight Spence. He could have fought someone else for less money

I never said that his trainer said it. He never had a gun to his head he had to fight him for the money he wanted. That's all I said and his trainer. Obviously all fighters have a choice and can't be forced to fight saying otherwise would be absurd.
