But regardless of that he ain't ready for Pacquiao.
Foolishness. What does one need to be ready for Pacquiao? Pac has never beaten a technical fighter in their prime. He fought war torn Barrera and Morales. Everyone else was either converted southpaws without a right hand or just plain limited. Mayweather struggles with Brawlers and Pac struggles with technical fighters. Brawlers don't allow Mayweather space to be cute, and technical fighters confuse Pac.

What Spence has shown that he will give Pac and May fits. Not sure if he wins, but it won't be an easy fight for either man. This is man is ready for anyone at welter---retired or active.

Pac lacks fundamentals, that's not a secret, he couldn't even throw a proper right hook till later in his career, he still can't cut the ring, and his boxing IQ is very low. Great fighter, horrible tactician.
Fan-boys will not understand this. Pac has not beaten a technical fighter unless they are washed up. Barrera and Morales were war torn. He lost to Morales and the only reason that fight was close was because Morales got drawn into a brawl and after that Morales was just shot to pieces. Mosley was washed up. Oscar was washed up; Clottey and Margarito are limited; Hatton and Cotto, two converted southpaws without a real good right hand. Also both got beaten up before the Pac's fight.

I even see Pac crossing his punches; he doesn't have jab; his footwork is horrible; he doesn't know how to cut the ring off; he is one dimensional and doesn't adapt. Before anyone starts raging, yes, being one dimensional got him knocked out--the flick jab, jab, jab, straight left. Marquez knew of it and spend his entire camp training to land that punch. Pac is entertaining but he's not technical, and he has mastered his way of fighting; however, the best thing that ever happened to him was not Freddie Roach; the best thing that happened to him was Ariza. Ariza gave him the energy to maximize his style of fighting, which is to swarm opponents, throwing "punches in Bunches".

If anyone think i am lying, please re-watched the Diaz fight. Steward, Lampley, and Merchant were criticizing him, saying they feel he's done due to being in so many wars. When they brought in Ariza, Manny had a new found energy to throw "punches in Bunches". He was never technical but he maximized what he had.

As i stated all the time people like the guy so they project this image on to him and bestowed him with tools he doesn't have. Pac has never stopped anyone at the full weight of 147, so he not a huge puncher at 147 and above. He still has pop, but not the monster people are making him out to be at the weight.

Having watched the Algieri vs Spence fight last night I have to say I wasn't really that impressed with Spence. Yes he hits hard but Algieri was catching him very clean at times and someone with more pop in their punches could very well drop/stop Spence.

At times he's quite wild and throws his punches too widely leaving open to counters. I would also like to see him utilize the jab more (he has good reach). So far I have only seen Spence fighting on the front foot, it will be interesting to see how well he fights on the back-foot against a fast dangerous puncher.

At the moment I still think Pacquiao would be too much for Spence to handle.

Great analysis! His weakness is he loads up too much too soon. IMO!

I felt he knew he could take Algieri's punches, so he went for the kill. Same with GGG, if he doesn't respect an opponent's power he walks through their punches for the kill. Notice how GGG was wary of Lemieux's power at the out set of their bout? He was boxing from the outside until he broke Lemieux down then went for the kill. I doubt Spence fight, say, a Thurman or Brook the way he fought Algieri; moreover, i can see his corner advising him not to.

Maybe to an extent he wasn't concerned about Algieri's power but this is boxing and anything can happen. I was concerned that Algieri was timing Spence coming in and caught him very cleanly and that's to do with Spence's style. He kind of reminds me of a mini Anthony Joshua in that he is a big powerful fighter with a lot of power but he also seems to be very stiff and at times robotic in his approach.

He was coming in straight against Algieri and was telegraphing his punches a bit. As I said it will be interesting to see how he can respond if he has to fight on the back-foot.
