Get his belt back from Vargas. Good fight coming off of a loss.
What's next for Tim Bradley?

I agree that TR is the best thing to happen to Tim. He gets paid well and had 3 PPV fights with Pacquiao. But his career is in a holding pattern if the Vargas rematch is his next fight. The first Marquez fight was a good fight but I think Marquez is past it now. He hasn't fought in a while and here had knee problems. That fight would sell but Cotto or Brook are the only reasonable fights of he can't fight a PBC welterweight. He resigned with TR before the Manny fight. I assume he was forced to to get that fight in the first place as is standard TR protocol, but its probably extremely unlikely Tim would even be thinking about buying out his contract. And tbh I think TR is the best thing to happen to Tim & I'm a cat who loves to find reasons to **** on Arum.
The Vargas fight is definitely a bit whatever at this point for Tim I'd agree. The thing is I feel like TR's strategy with moving their fighters is to go for the best W you are basically assured of winning after a L like this. I think Vargas represents that. Cotto is a risk. Marquez is a risk (people keep acting like their first fight was the widest 7-5 scored fight in the history of boxing, but I think that was & is a close fight Tim could lose). Crawford & Tim won't fight. Brook is a risk. Vargas isn't a risk really. Is there anyone else who should be in the conversation? I'm not sure off the top of my head, but I still suspect Vargas is the best opponent Tim is almost assured of beating.Comment

I think he's earned a little layoff. I'd love to see him against any of the young welterweights (Brook, Thurman, Porter, Garcia, Spence, etc.).Comment

If he retired that would be great for him. He has made a lot of $ and should leave with his marbles. He will be HOF regardless of what he does from now on but I think you are right, he will probably fight Vargas, problem is Vargas is getting better with each fight and I think soon Tim will start to show some wear. I still favor Tim in a rematch (60/40) but if Vargas lands that punch earlier, Tim might fight another fight concussed, so why risk it?Part of me wouldn't be shocked if he retires. Mostly I think we won't see him do anything til the end of the year. I'm thinking a Vargas rematch is probably the most likely fight to make. Get some confidence back, get a W, get a belt.
I tend to think he's a distant option for Cotto, but that fight could happen. And I'll still be a lil surprised if Marquez fights again let alone fight Tim.Comment

He committed career suicide when he sided with the bum bandits. It's all downhill for him now and he'll never ever ever regain his former status. That's what happens when you sacrifice your morals for the approval of others. He and Crawford won't fight each other. Eddie Hearn said Bradley wants to take some time off so the fight with Brook isn't happening in the summer. So it's a Vargas rematch or Cotto in the fall at 154. Maybe even a Marquez rematch. Tim's possible fights are looking slim.Comment
