both of these statements are absurd. just because you're just now realizing Mayorga is a cool dude does not mean you have to suggest he's a great fighter because he most certainly is not. i saw in another thread, you would put Mayorga in the p4p lists if he stopped DLH or some ****. LOL! get real. a couple months ago you were saying Mayorga is an ******* and you hated him for calling Forrest names. now all of a sudden, he's your favorite fighter and a great fighter? get out of here. -

Originally posted by The ScientistOscar picked Mayorga for his comeback foil, because he knows he can beat him. De La Hoya is a pin-point boxer/puncher, maybe not as potent in the punching department as Ricardo, but way to skilled for the wild swinging Mayorga. The best opponent 'El Matador' beat was Vernon Forrest and that was only because Vernon couldn't do **** with a bum left shoulder. Mayorga's career was built on only that fight. Oscar has beat 13 world champions, and a legend in Julio Cesar Chavez. My point is Oscar is still the elite fighter he's always been, when he's been beaten it's only because he's fought credible fighters that were better than him. Mayorga couldn't box if his life depended on it, Emanuel Steward tried to train him to box and quite in two days. Mayorga is going to be schooled for 11 rounds, then TKO'd in the 12th. That's my prediction.
mayorga would not have beaten forrest if he was a boxer. the guy is a street fighter with gloves on.
his attacks get his opponents off balance and flustered and his multiple angled shots are either unseen or land on the top of the head or side of temple where you lose your =librium. a flush shot after that puts you out.Comment

Mayorga's is not as powerful at 154 than he is at 147. As long as Oscar trains properly he should be able to box mayorga.Comment

Where did I state Mayorga was my favorite fighter or a great fighter for that matter?
He's a guy that I'd like to watch fight.
I stated if Mayorga beat Oscar...then beat Karmazin I'd put him in the top 10 P4P....that's ****ing correct.
Secondly...yeah. My perception of Mayorga changed as a person given I can understand where his sediments are coming from.
You mistook what the other poster that answered my question stated. You also like to twist things around to where you can percieve them accordingly.

After beating Forrest for the World Welter Title, Mayorga's next challenge was Cory Spinks, needless to say 'El Matador' was defeated. He was beat because Cory Spinks is a relatively good boxer, which indicates that Mayorga has trouble handling Boxers. Power and wild swings are not effective if they don't land cleanly against someone who know how to evade. Oscar is not ****** enough to go face to face with Mayorga, instead he's gonna teach him that street fighting belongs in Tough Man competition, not in the Boxing ring. After all Boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit

I hope im wrong though because i will be rooting for Oscar
Mayorga is very similiar to Sam Peter, he is a headhunting neanderthal. That is a losing strategy against the Golden Boy. What he should do is throw wild punches at the body instead of the head. Bodywork may not guarantee the win, but that is better than a guaranteed loss if he tries headhunting yet again.Comment
