That theory doesn't make an ounce of since

Let's start with it's great to hear that GGG could never have fought Mayweather at 154 in the first place. A guy who walks around at/around 160 at the age of 34 would kill himself to make 155.
Keep digging your hole bud
Canelo is the coward, period.

Except that I'm sure the WBC won't just ignore the contract they signed with Golovkin and allow Canelo to carry on reigning as their 155 champion if he can't come to an agreement with GGG on the weight. They almost went into bankruptcy after sued being for breaking a contract with a fighter a few years back.
Making Canelo interim MW champion till he grows up might be a way out for them. Lol.
And yea I know I hate Graciano Rocchigiani to this day for not pulling the trigger instead of falling back with that. The WBC should be outta business cuz of that Graciano W.
But I think this could easily pushed back one more time too. "I mean is the fight THAT big? Can't we have one more buildup fight, cuz GGG is starting to grow his name more? Imagine if we fight on the same card in September & then make the fight for May 2017". Yea I can EASILY see that go down & K2 seem like suckers a lil bit to me with this situation. I mean they already pushed things back from May for some reason I don't really understand, this fight isn't gonna be bigger in Sept. cuz Khan & Wade got their asses beat.

Worth remembering though that Floyd entered the ring around 150 when he fought at 154. Canelo enters the ring at 175+ after weighing in at 155.
I keep saying this: Cutting weight to fight an opponent who is bigger than you is a different proposition from doing the same thing for a smaller man.

That's the main difference you're overlooking: former SFW champ Delahoya wanted to fight the much bigger Hopkins, so he demanded a reasonable CW. Lineal MW champ Canelo badly wants to avoid his mando, so unreasonable CW, unreasonable purse split, and now some day, down the line

My understanding is Jacobs said he wanted to fight BJS this summer. Not to say he wouldn't fight GGG if presented with the $$$ he's been asking for. Plus I saw a video the other day where Jacobs trainer says after the BJS fight, they'll target GGG.
But again, if you show me where Team GGG offered Jacobs a fight after the Quillin KO, I will STFU right here right now.
I'm not sure actually, I think I remember reading Loeffler saying that they made Jacobs an offer? but not 100% sure about that..... he did say that all the top middleweights are ducking Golovkin, and to be fair they are..... maybe not Jacobs, but pretty much everyone else is.
Yea, Jacobs/Saunders is the fight to make at 160, but that leaves GGG out in the cold, again.
I'm pretty sure they would take that fight if they could. Ramirez at 168 doesn't seem to make any sense at all, I'm sure they want Saunders and Jacobs.

If Canelo is in fact bigger than GGG, then isn't it in fact Canelo who would be at an even more disadvantage at the lower catchweight of 155 instead of GGG who is the smaller fighter in your opinion?
I will never understand that one ??
Attempting to argue that a JMW is bigger than a MW..... is ridiculous.

It's no secret that younger fighters in their early to mid 20's can cut large amounts of weight and fully recover within 24 hours. Where an older fighter over 30 will struggle not only in cutting the weight, but rehydrating in that short of time.
At 25 years old, Canelo can still make that massive cut and still recover well come fight time. This time next year I highly doubt he's still fighting at 155lbs.
We see guys as they get older all the time unable to cut weight and have to move up. I remember when Canelo outgrew 147lbs, he had WW Matthew Hatton fight him at 150lbs. Then he missed weight at 154lbs vs Angulo and now has guys fighting him at 155lbs (even though he asked Cotto for 156lbs).
