Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: Until Canelo Decides, It's Hard To Speculate

Tom Loeffler, promoter for IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), is not ready to rule out the possibility of a fall fight with WBC champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs).

Well, there's always that guy who hangs outside of the local Home Depot you can fight.

It’s nothing personal, but Gennady wants the WBC title, whether he wins it or is anointed,” Loeffler told the Los Angeles Times.
Sounds good, let's get Canelo stripped post haste

Ramirez is a big SMW and should be a tough test for Golovkin, but.. If GGG beats Ramirez - especially if it´s a one sided KO - no MW is going to fight GGG after that, ever.

On the contrary. Nice strategic move if Canelo doesn't take the fight now. Canelo can't stay at 155 forever. If GGG KOs Ramirez and comes back to 160, Canelo won't hear the end of it from Mexican fans. Beating a high profile Mexican fighter, with the weight difference that creates some intrigue, is exactly what is needed to force Canelo's hand. Beating Sanders or Jacobs won't have the same effect.

He's not going to fight you

Don't use him ducking you as an excuse for you to duck everyone else

Sad that Canelo has to live in the guy outside of Home Depot's shadow.

He wants the belt "whether he wins it or is anointed..." That shouldn't be said by a champion (or his team). You should want to WIN IT! That should make a lot of difference to you. Nobody likes catch-weights, but they are NOT something new. Floyd, Manny, Canelo, B-Hop, have all been in catch-weight title fights! It's not like we're asking GGG to re-invent the ****ing wheel! Go to 155 and become GREAT!

It's embarrassing that Canelo has to stall. It's embarrassing golden boy is trying to HYPE up someone who just doesn't posses the attributes to be hyped, he couldn't even knock down Miguel cotto dude. It's shameful that over 200 years of middleweight history and this red head thinks it's ok to drain people down even tho he himself is a HUGE man, coming in @180? GTFO & I'm Mexican smh
