GGG turned down a lousy offer from Ward that came after they'd already had a MW unification PPV fight booked with a mandatory and 2 other unification fights on the horizon. They'd invested 2 years into MW unification. Ward, who hadn't fought a 168 in 2 years, sent a BS offer that they knew would be turned down immediately, as it should have been. Ward then ran to the press with it. Still waiting to see all those damning emails they keep talking about. They basically told Ward - get to work and we'll talk in 2017.

Ward had plenty of time to go after GGG between the Monroe fight and the Lemieux announcement. Why did he wait? GGG's been KOing MW contenders at a rate of 3 or 4 a year while Ward's done what exactly?
context is important... but you are wasting your time with that guy.

If you beat a guy in the top 10 you are a contender and not a prospect. So we know that's not true. I agree his resume is underwhelming though and I'm getting anxious to see him fight somebody who has a chance to win.

No one else ranks opponents as bad as Golovkin fights.

Yeah, 2017. After Ward's actually done something inside a ring that isn't ancient history...It's okay...Ward will be getting a chance to "chase greatness" against a guy his own size later this year. Unfortunately, GGG will have to wait as Canelo will be handing over his lunch $ soon.
