Is this really a big deal? I feel DiBella flips out like 8 times a day probably, like when he realizes his daughter left just a drop of milk when he's trying to pour his cereal or when he just took his dog outside & the dog wanna go right back out & random **** like that. DiBella is like 8 weeks from a heart attack or stroke.

Lou is the one who started it by taking shots at Verdejo. I expect this from him going forward. Every time Pedraza has a fight he's going to try and use Verdejo's name to pump him up.

The reality is that Pedraza will never be on Verdejo's level, unless Verdejo's falls off and takes a bunch of L's. Pedraza has a terrible hairline, the dude is almost bald, has the personality of a brick, lacks charisma, and while he's a good boxer he has a boring style that doesn't generate knockouts. There are reports that he doesn't interact with his fans either. Also, lacking a social media presence isn't doing him much favors. He has 500 twitter followers compared to Verdejo's 22K.

Verdejo on the other hand looks like other Puerto Ricans, is a lot more flashy in the ring, more charismatic and is 4 years younger.

DiBella was likely on edge from the whole weekend (staging two significant shows, on the same night likely wasn't easy), but the dig didn't help things. In Verdejo and Pedraza (Pritchard Colon, to me, was on the verge of being in that mix), you're likely looking at the two fighters likely to carry the PR's biggest star banner when Cotto hangs 'em up.

Both guys are being led down different paths; DiBella's path seemingly focused on building the best fighter possible and taking a finished product to the masses, while Top Rank's path seems to be to build the hype around Verdejo, hoping that he proves himself good enough when he faces a real fighter. We'll see who's right.

You add that there's a personal relationship underneath it all, and I get why the needling ticked DiBella off.
