Brad Solomon (26-0) vs Konstantin Ponomarev (29-0)

So i'm aware neither of these two are popular around these parts, but apparently they fought last week and Ponomarev won an SD now he's 30-0 and #10 ranked Welterweight by The Ring, Solomon falls to 26-1.

I googled this match and boxingscene as a keyword and apparently the last news ever written by boxingscene was a live results thread on the day of the PPV, bunched up together with all the other smaller fights of the Pac-Bradley PPV.

This fight was a bit important I guess because the winner now entered the top 10 WW's. He is only 23 years old, he is Russian. He beat and dominated another top prospect late last year Mikael Zewski who was 26-0. Solomon is not great but respectable also 26-0..This guy KP is taking 0's. Boxingscene reported that the fight was dominated by the Russian and the scorecards were off. This kid is 5'10", and is trained by Abel Sanchez. Anyone knows his promoter?

Pretty sure hs with tr. that was the first fight of the PAC undercard for some reason. Solomon isn't good. The guy was ranked top ten on ring at 147 for the longest and that was the first time I ever saw him fight

I stumbled upon Konstantin in one of Elie's videos 2-3 years ago. He's quietly moving his way up the ladder. I would like to see him against Chaves or Vargas.

Whatever anyone thinks of Solomon who was 26-0 and Zewski who was also 26-0...apparently Ponomarev dominated them both. I have seen Solomon fight on ESPN and he is a good boxer, nothing special and lacks power. He beat Granados who exposed Imam. He also beat Demetrious Hopkins a while back, I saw that fight. He's not bad, but yeah I mean it's no coincidence this Russian kid beat two fellow undefeated fighters.

Zewski went 138-29 as an amateur, Solomon won the national GG championship 3 times but he didn't have a stand out amateur career 20-5.

You know the only people in that arena at that point are boxingscene posters

Ponomarev looks decent but still very much in learning mode. Only 23 and hasn't faced anyone that real yet.

I gave Solomon round 1 and 2, i'm watching a different fight than the announcers I guess.

He still needs to face some battle-tested journeymen/gate-keepers. Being on the TR side prevents him from facing Berto/Guerrero/Alexander which would take him to the next level.

Haven't watched the Solomon fight yet, but I saw him dominate Zewski. I was there to see Zewski pretty much- he was a prospect I saw 5 times prior so I was tracking his career and wanted to see him fight in person. I had no idea who Ponomarev was, just figured it was a step-up to American TV for Zewski so it would be a challenge. Man he demoralized Zewski bad. Really exploited his flaws, made it very rough. Now I'll remember this name, thx for the thread
