The winner of Ortiz-Berto is supposed to be Brook's big summer fight? What Hearn said was that Brook would fight spence as a mandatory. What that means is brook will be free to fight a mediocre fighter billed as the big summer fight and then probably move up.

That's the reason why brook is where he is. Low risk and relatively higher reward. That's what he's looking for in every fight.

this is true although calzaghe was fortunate he had a weak division and a gift decision against hopkins to make his career look better than it was. brook has a division full of young talent so it makes him look even worse when he doesn't fight them.

khan is fugging terrible. that's a sure win against a guy who will bring a lot of money. that's charles martin part 2 right there. that doesn't prove brook wants to be the best in his division. it proves he wants big paychecks and for easy fights but who doesn't? why doesn't he start making offers to other top guys?

Well Khan was top 10 at WW and also would have brought in huge money (way more than any other non Manny/May opponent at welter due to regional/personal rivalry). Its a fight that any WW would have chased in Brooks shoes.

Im still amazed that Khan never took the fight. He's instead opted for a harder fight for about the same money he was offered to fight Brook

Time will tell. I would be surprised if Brook/Hearns didnt chase one of the top band of WW's for his next fight. Only stumbling block to that could be Broner who brings money and name value but obviously is not a top WW.
