I was there.... so you guys can ask me about it. :-)
Anyway, no... not Verdejo's best performance by any means. It's not the end of the world, though. I do, however agree he needs to move on with another trainer the sooner the better. He needs help getting to the next level. Now to set some things straight.
The KD was not a KD. Please. It was a push/slip. Clear as day. Yes... Verdejo did get tagged, but didn't seem to be in any danger. He won handily. The guy, last-minute replacement or not, was a tough bruiser. He came to fight and try to win. He takes a good punch (don't all Mexicans?). Good learning experience for Felix. One thing he needs to tone down is his swinging for the fences with every right hand. Knock that out, Felix. Start boxing more, and KO's will come by themselves.
Again... I was there... so I would know. :-)

Hmmm, IDK what to think about Felix. His fight against Navara(sp?) he passed the "eye test" with speed, power, and explosiveness. He's not been as good since then.

.................
Verdejo did not struggled in any round period. I know we all want him to KO everybody they put in front of him but his last minute opponent was tuff as nails, he took everything thrown at him and that was the bottom line.
Also the slip was just that and never a knock down.
He clearly said his left hand was hurt and that may be the only problem he had.
Next.......war Verdejo!

When Felix doesn't get a KO Mexicans rejoice and talk about how overrated he is, love these forums.
