Comments Thread For: Errol Spence Hopes Kell Brook Shot Happens, Will Travel To UK

Undefeated welterweight contender Errol Spence has no problem with heading over to the UK to fight IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. Spence (19-0, 16 KOs) is ready to face former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Hearn will avoid this until IBF orders it.

To liberate that belt from the United Kingdom it's gonna take a clear points victory whereby the judges can't stiff the challenger, I'd say Spence is the best guy in Haymon's ranks to do so. I expect this will be a more decisive and comprehensive win for Spence over Brook than Ward over Froch.

Hopefully Brook still has his belt by that stage, if a Garcia vs Brook fight happens before I'm sure we'll be seeing Garcia vs Spence for the IBF instead.

Brook won't be fighting these kinds of fights until he gets Khan. He'll probably resume the Chaves fight if Khan still refuses to fight him. Where is Chaves, btw?

As he'd be smart to, tbf (Kell Brook is a whole different level from Chris Algieri, who is a whole other level from the guys that Spence Jr has been fighting; how he performs on Saturday will tell us a whole lot, but don't act like Kell Brook is supposed to be 'easy work'). Brook vs Garcia (in a IBF/WBC 147 world title unification fight), especially if the money can be come up with to bring Garcia to the UK (with Showtime International carrying the live feed, and Showtime likely digging into their pocket to re-air the fight with a US fight card in the evening as well), is a massive fight for everyone involved.

Focus strictly on what is in front of you young man! Algeiri has a tricky style that will test him and could give him problems especially early

                Make it happen.

I expect Spence to take care of a very average Algieri, but Brook will handle him comprehensively.

If the Brook that fought Porter meets Spence, Brook will win by a KO in a late round.

Am I the only guy who's thinking it might too soon for Brook? I feel like everyone has given Spence W's on his pro record for hurting Broner & giving Mayweather a challenge in sparring. Aligeri is a big step up for Spence & Brook would be an even bigger one. Spence is a legit contender in the division with a Aligeri W & he's a player in the division with a Brook win. Big moves for Spence.
