Where Does Nicholas Walters Go From Here?

After all the smoke cleared, Walters and Lomachenko couldn't agree to terms and the fight fell through. For those that don't know, the offer was $850K to Loma and $550K to Walters. Walters didn't feel he was the B-side and wanted $850K as well. Loma offered to give Walters $300k if he beat him but they couldn't reach terms.
I'm not here to point fingers (I feel neither guy is a draw so 50/50 seems fair) but what does this do to Walters career. I thought Loma would've beat him convincingly but I still like Walters as a fighter. Strong puncher, good jab, sizeable at the weight and can still make some noise at 130.
My concern is Top Rank will put him on the shelf which will lead to another Mikey Garcia, Chavez Jr. type dispute that will leave him inactive for the next couple of years. There are still some good fights for him like Uchiyama, Fortuna and others.
Thoughts?
There are plenty of fish at 130. It is a very deep division. My preference would be Uchiyama, but Pedraza, Vasquez, Muira or pretty much anyone in the top ten is fine with me as I feel there are'nt really any soft touches in the top 10. I thijnk Fortuna, Loma, Walters and Uchiyama are the fron trunners in the division but there are a lot of dangerous guys that can upset the apple cart. Uchiyama is the man until proven otherwise so that would be outstanding.Comment

Meh..If you want to build a star you have to get quality opponents in the ring with them and the way to do that is to pay them. From Walters point, so he takes a lower split here, loses and will never see that type of money again regardless. There are fair arguments from both sides but that's not what this thread is supposed to be about. I actually would have preferred him to take it as well, but it didn't happen and we move on.Arum doesn't actually care who is the best fighter, he cares who is the more marketable fighter to make him money.
If, in his opinion, that is Loma then I'm afraid Walters just has to accept it and prove him wrong.
Unfortunately, he didn't and he's not going to see that money elsewhere. Everyone loses.
I'm just asking what are his options at this stage since this options appears to be behind us.Comment

Walters would end up like Garcia.
I don't even know where Mikey Garcia would end up with. Mayweather Promotions certainly can't promise him heaven when his own fighters don't even get the kind of money top stars do. GBP? TR is way better than GBP and is no longer allied with Haymon.
PBC? The trend of overpaying fighters is on the decline.Comment

450 or 550k is a much bigger number than $0. It amazes me how Walters and other boxers fail to understand this. It isn't like there are a whole bunch of other opportunities available for Walters on HBO or anywhere for 6 figures, for that matter.Comment

That fight was almost made earlier this year too. I hope they re-open negotiations. The dumb ass WBA killed it by trying to force Fortuna vs. Uchiyama and now it turns out that fight isn't even happening. There are plenty of fish at 130. It is a very deep division. My preference would be Uchiyama, but Pedraza, Vasquez, Muira or pretty much anyone in the top ten is fine with me as I feel there are'nt really any soft touches in the top 10.
