      Nah. When you get a census form you have two separate choices : Hispanic and Black (not of Hispanic origin).

        It amazes me how often this topic comes up. Ortiz and Verdejo may have other races in their DNA, but their primary lineage is African, which makes them black. Everyone calls the POTUS black, yet ***** is at least 50% white on his mother's side. Why would Ortiz and Verdejo be any different?

            Yes, they're black. Sadly the USA has race issues. Growing up in PR I had no idea how prevalent racial bias is in the US. Think about it, it doesn't matter if you're half white & half black, if you have any shade of color in your skin your considered black, even though you're 50/50 white & black. It's also easier for people to say you're black and latino, than to say you're white and latino. If you're a white latino, you're just latino.
