I've still never been able to watch that fight in its entirety. It's just too painful.
It's unfortunate that people let their dislike for the man cloud their judgment to the point that they disavow what's in front of them because it doesn't fit in with their preconceived notions. Floyd was a tough fighter. He wouldn't have had the career that he had without being tough.
It reminds me, albeit on a different level, of the critism levelled at Chris Eubank throughout the majority of his career. It was only when he took his loses to Calzaghe and Carl Thompson that people were willing to acknowledge what was clear all along. The man had heart.Comment

sounds like you are describing the pac-floyd fight where pac outboxed floyd and landed the better punches yet he still lost because he didn't do it the way people wanted. they wanted pac to swarm him maidana style and when he didn't well he must be losing lets be blind.I've still never been able to watch that fight in its entirety. It's just too painful.

I was a big pretty boy fan and it used to make me cringe when he fought like that. His chin was just suspect enough and he'd fall in and square up here and there...sometimes it felt like he was one or two lucky shots from being hurt or dropped. It was nerve-wracking to watch at the time it was happening...but made for a good second viewing. The guy is definitely tougher than people give him credit for, but he was smart enough to realize he wasn't that kind of fighter and used his gifts accordingly.Comment

I'd averted my gaze at that point, only giving the screen a sideways glance. I found myself fixated on the poster of Pacqiuao's previous opponents, names crossed out, that I'd pinned to the living room wall. My friends danced about me. Mocking. Grinning. Jeering. Then they broke into song to the tune of DJ Luck & MC Neat's late 90's U.K garage hit - 'Little Bit of Luck'
'No Manny, No Manny,
No Manny, No Manny,
Nooooooooooo!'Comment
