What i've bolded are pretty common misconceptions

Race is defined by physical characteristics. Skin colour being the most prominent of which.

So firstly, beliefs and culture are not racial characteristics. Therefore discrimination against these is not a case of racism, but instead xenophobia. In the 'gypsy' case, this may be true, though the mostly accepted definition of xenophobia is a negative attitude towards foreigners, to which they are clearly aren't.

Secondly, being prejudiced against Polish people isn't racist, as racially they are mostly European white, its either nationalist and/or xenophobic. Being prejudiced against Pakistani's, based on looking at their skin colour, would be racist.

Back to the point though, its the traditional aspects of 'gypsy' culture that bother some people. Its not racism at all. Its their way of life that people find strange and threatening. They are British/Irish people who decide to sit outside majority accepted culture, so what do you expect?

Not in the eyes of the law or modern society it isn't. They're protected under the law the same as any other ethnic minority. You just purely went on the meaning of racism being clear physical attributes. That doesn't hold up academically or in law terms. That's not how racism or being a racist is defined by modern society. There is no difference between "racial" or "ethnic" discrimination. Racism covers things on not just an ethnic basis but a cultural basis as well, independent of whether they are actually described as racial (mind ****!!!). Both terms are widely used because they have been accepted in law and society. You say it's a misconception but that's exactly what you would be accused of under the law, racism. Your defence of "I wasn't abusing that person because of physical traits, it's because of all the cultural stuff and their lifestyle" wouldn't end well, trust me.

If you want to change the meaning of racism and racist that is accepted by society you better get to work as it's enshrined in law and widely accepted by people, or you could nitpick terminology's on Forums

Being born into a family with hundreds of years of travelling history is a life choice? whatever man, You're a product of your community and family. Their beliefs and culture define them as a race of people. A separate entity from "normal" society if you will.

I've heard the same thing said about people living near ****** areas, Pakistan areas and white/black housing estates. where I live I heard it about polish people when they flooded in over 10 years ago. I have a large number of Polish friends now but was annoyed when they came at first. A lot of it is warranted, I don't like those travellers that turn up in my community either, however, the Fury's can't be defined by what you think of those people that turn up in caravans and leave ****ty nappy's behind once they move on. They had a house for starters and focused on boxing, paying their own way around the world fighting.

It's like me being prejudice towards a Polish person based on them being Polish. It's racist. I don't judge people based on their race, colour, nationality or sex. I take people how they come. I think he's a good guy. If you don't like him fair enough but don't bring his background into it. He's not a prick because all travellers are pricks. It's like tarring 300,000 people with the same brush. Same as judging every ******, Pakistani or Black/White guy by your personal experience with a few of them

Fury haters are just weird. He's a heavyweight that wants to fight other top guys in his division...what's so upsetting about that? The guy says he wants to fight Joshua, they don't like the way he words himself so they get all pissy about it. I don't see how his manner of speech is at all relevant to they way you judge him, considering most of his haters seem to prefer [American] trash talkers anyhow.

I think BJS is kind of a d1ck, cause he talks like one and he's content on avoiding the man in his division. That doesn't apply to Fury cause he actually wants to fight.
