As I remember it marquez had to jump up & floyd being the epitome of fair play decided to renage on the contract & come in over weight thus gaining a bigger advantage.

Whether Castillo or Maidana put up a good show doesn't change the fact that they are both miles below manny on the atg list.

I watch boxing to be excited & entertained & have no complaints with Mannys career. Can't say the same for floyd.
You honestly think manny had a serious op, an op that could have retired him, for a non existent injury? I thought you had a bit more grey matter fella

No, the contract was amended two weeks before the fight.

Marquez made an extra 600k, and Mayweather saved 400k in commission fee's..... it was lame, but he has never missed weight.

Mayweather has been in plenty of good fights, you must have a carrot up your ass over something.

MayPac really was quite an amazing fight if you look at it from a technical standpoint, which is probably why Andre Ward (showtime commentator for MayPac) hailed it as a great fight while the fans booed.

To see how recent fights and experiences shaped the tactics and techniques both fighters tried to employ, amazing.

Having said that I felt Floyd should have used the uppercut more *******ly in that fight.

He landed a freakin good and flush uppercut in the 6th round against the ropes and in the eleventh in the centre of the ring.

Pac's strategy against Floyd's counter right was to duck under the straight right and throw a wild left cross (which caught Floyd flush in the sixth and lightly in the eleventh/twelth). I felt Floyd should have mixed it up with uppercuts more than he did, he might have actually knocked Manny coz Manny would have walked into those uppercuts like he did the two times Floyd threw them.

Manny I felt should have done more when he had Floyd against the ropes. I get why he didn't. He always does that. If you try to trade with him while your back is against the ropes, he does that in-out thing of his where beats you in the pocket and then steps back/to the side when you try to hit back and then goes in again.

Sometimes he'll pull back and go back to the centre of the ring, usually the guy comes flying out of the ropes in order to try and get some payback and Manny will stop him on his tracks by letting him walk into vanilla ice (his right hook counter).

However, Floyd didn't try to trade with Pac when he was hurt against the ropes, instead he just covered up until he regained his bearings, which meant that Pac couldn't do his in-out step and therefore couldn't land clean or hurt Floyd further.

He then tried his other strategy which is to bait him into coming out with anger from the ropes by moving back to the centre so he can land Vanilla ice, but Floyd didn't follow him and instead tried to re-assert his jab to buy time to make a full recovery and to slow down the pac again so that he can re-assert dominance.

It really was a game of chess in there, but of course casual fans just want explosives and bombs the whole night, they don't really comprehend what's going on in there.

Ps. Those who actually think Fury-Klitscho was better than May-Pac need to hang themselves.
                  Very interesting post.

I agree on most of your points.

Manny's main problem is Floyd always had one move ahead in this game of chess. And this because of Floyd's longer and accurate Jab.

Manny should have refused a tactical fight and bring Floyd into a raw fight.

I think that shoulder injury is BS. But Manny was too cautious, and I think his KO loss to Marquez costed him a lot.
He had to take risks in order to beat Floyd, not ****** risks, but effective agression.

It was like Manny's main objective was not being hurt more than getting the decision. That's kind of disappointing because Floyd hasn't been knocking nobody for a while except teenagers in sparring sessions.

He got tagged hard twice in the first round. That second right was set up exactly like the Marquez KO. Floyd literally maneuvered him to the same area, used the same footwork and feints and caught him with nearly the exact same punch. Manny caught himself a split second before full impact but the fight was over right then pretty much.

Floyd schools Pacquiao again, they'll say "why does Floyd keep running doe?!?" and "Bradley stood and fought, why can't Floyd??" and "Look, Manny shook his arm in round 3, it's still hurting him, Floyd didn't let him get the shot doe!"
