You're not supposed to let your opponent beat up on you against the ropes. That's the reason clinching was even invented in boxing. And that video you showed was edited to appear Floyd clinched throughout the whole round. go back and watch the actual fight. he did not clinch as much as the haters say. But of course that's always the case. Pac fans can't handle that their hero looked average and they come up with EVERY excuse in the book as to why he lost. It will be the same situation if they rematch.

He would have made so much money, even if it didn't sell as well as the first fight.
But you know what? He's made a ton of money, and I'm assuming he's invested well (can't say the same about Pacquiao...), so I suppose it doesn't really matter.
Then the following day at the press they asked him if he would rematch Pacquiao because Pac was in dispute of the decision and he said yes of course, no problem.
So that tells you that he was planning to rematch Pac in sept, however, we all know he went on to rescind that statement when Pac came up with the injury excuse. He would have probably been agitated already by Pac refusing to admit he lost, the injury excuse was the tipping point and Mayweather said **** him, no rematch.
Bottom line though, he was going to fight in sept whether it was Pac or Berto, I think he was in a hurry to finish his contract not only so that he can be a free agent, but I think also because he felt he needed a rest. Remember he started fighting twice a year when he signed that contract in 2013, whereas he had fought only once a year for the previous four years.
He really wanted to finish the contract as quick as possible, either due to age or business related reasons, maybe both.

Floyd did better.
Floyd's fans gotta give props to Manny for going up in weight and challenge such a talented fighter.
That being said, I know *******s (more fan of Pacquiao than the sport) are ****** fans, make too much excuses, but I'm tired of all that clinching in boxing.
I mean, guys like Klitschko, Lennox Lewis or Floyd, who use their reach to keep the opponent at bay, then clinch in close quarters bored us to death. That's a debate boxing should have.[/B]
I have been training as an amateur in Europe (I'm not an English speaking person).
We doesn't have that culture of the clinch.
Klitschko mastered it with Steward, so did Lewis.
Obviously, Klit hasn't been koed since he mastered thos tricks.
I mean, if you're the shorter guy, and everytime you reduce the distance the guy clinches, that's not a fair and entertaining sport anymore.
Ref should deduct points from the fighters.
I remember Klit vs Povetkin, that fight was a disgrace.
Maidana had success vs Floyd because he refused to have his boxing negated and made it a street fight.
MayPac really was quite an amazing fight if you look at it from a technical standpoint, which is probably why Andre Ward (showtime commentator for MayPac) hailed it as a great fight while the fans booed.
To see how recent fights and experiences shaped the tactics and techniques both fighters tried to employ, amazing.
Having said that I felt Floyd should have used the uppercut more *******ly in that fight.
He landed a freakin good and flush uppercut in the 6th round against the ropes and in the eleventh in the centre of the ring.
Pac's strategy against Floyd's counter right was to duck under the straight right and throw a wild left cross (which caught Floyd flush in the sixth and lightly in the eleventh/twelth). I felt Floyd should have mixed it up with uppercuts more than he did, he might have actually knocked Manny coz Manny would have walked into those uppercuts like he did the two times Floyd threw them.
Manny I felt should have done more when he had Floyd against the ropes. I get why he didn't. He always does that. If you try to trade with him while your back is against the ropes, he does that in-out thing of his where beats you in the pocket and then steps back/to the side when you try to hit back and then goes in again.
Sometimes he'll pull back and go back to the centre of the ring, usually the guy comes flying out of the ropes in order to try and get some payback and Manny will stop him on his tracks by letting him walk into vanilla ice (his right hook counter).
However, Floyd didn't try to trade with Pac when he was hurt against the ropes, instead he just covered up until he regained his bearings, which meant that Pac couldn't do his in-out step and therefore couldn't land clean or hurt Floyd further.
He then tried his other strategy which is to bait him into coming out with anger from the ropes by moving back to the centre so he can land Vanilla ice, but Floyd didn't follow him and instead tried to re-assert his jab to buy time to make a full recovery and to slow down the pac again so that he can re-assert dominance.
It really was a game of chess in there, but of course casual fans just want explosives and bombs the whole night, they don't really comprehend what's going on in there.
Ps. Those who actually think Fury-Klitscho was better than May-Pac need to hang themselves.Last edited by Sledgeweather17; 04-14-2016, 05:24 AM.

Floyd was floyd, his subtle control of range off set pac. We know pac had an injury in the fight & that floyd had a questionable iv.
Floyd re matched bums (compared to pacquiao's standing in history) but won't rematch manny. I couldn't give a hoot.
If you can't see that it bothers floyd then what's there to say?
Manny is loved & will be remembered fondly. Floyd needs to keep himself relevant with his bitching. He's already forgotten by fans. They won't talk about his fights in the future. He & his family are a stain on the sport of boxing & the consensus from fans is good riddance.
Floyd fans..We don't want him to fight khan, no rematch with pac, no ggg. Enjoy your berto's
