  • Comments Thread For: Cunningham Committed To Filing Civil Lawsuit Against Tarver

NEW YORK Steve Cunningham hasn't forgotten about his PED promise. Cunningham said Wednesday before a press conference in Manhattan that he intends to file a civil lawsuit against Antonio Tarver sometime soon after he boxes Krzysztof Glowacki for Glowacki's WBO cruiserweight championship Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (NBC). Tarver tested positive for synthetic testosterone before he fought to a 12-round heavyweight draw with Cunningham on August 14 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The only way to slow the drug cheats down is to hit them hard in the pocketbook. Two time cheats like Tarver should be banned for life.

Of course some will say Cunninghams doing it for the $ but I do feel he is sincere and I think he is onto something, Boxers are protected by their promoters and managers so if you go after them directly in court, their managers and promoters cant do crap but maybe get them a lawyer which I doubt.

Respect to Cunningham for pushing this PED ****. Someone sometime is gonna need to make a call with all this **** for real. Everyone is avoiding it cuz its not cost effective to take it on yet. When it is cost effective to take it on things will change. This is a step on that path.

before you non-article reading goons say he's doing it for money, he states that if he's awarded any money, he's donating it to charity...Cunningham isn't running a fake anti-steroid campaign like Floyd did...he's legit

Cunningham is tops. I'll always have love for his heart and fighting style. He should fleece that PEDiot Tarver for every last penny.

              Yep agree.

I actually wished Cunningham went a lil harder with this & sued the NJ commission. What people overlook or forget with this specific situation is Tarver passed NJ's ineffective PED test, but was caught by VADA's or USADA's (idr who did their testing) test. I think suing the commission could get NJ & other commissions taking a harder line with testing & punishments.

Not sure if there are legal entanglements or waivers signed before fighting under NJ's or any commission that would be problematic with this doe so maybe its not possible idk.

Yep. Said it a long time ago. When these mother****ers who get popped start getting sued you'll actually have a real deterrent in the sport.

Have to admit I feel bad for Tarver. Jesus christ is that dude on a bad run.

You shouldn't. He had the world by the balls and took it for granted. Now it's blowing up in his face.
