Indeed. Charles Martin is a fat bum with no skills whatsoever. Whyte would flatten him.

But Joshua knocked both out and Whyte didn't get the shot, so...

If is a big word but yeah, if you remove the belt from the equation then Charles Martin was a step backwards from fighting Whyte, i said that before the fight. But so what, Charles Martin found himself as a belt holder and Joshua took the opportunity to win it.

People are too hung up on him being "world champion" - the way i see it is that he's clearly better than guys like Whyte and Martin, so sooner or later he's going to be fighting the better guys in the division and he's just picked up a bargaining chip along the way.

The problem that Dillian Whyte has is that despite his surname he is not a choc ice like Joshua.

Yea I think most would agree Whyte beats Martin & is a title holder today if he'd been given a gift title shot before Joshua. Briggs is probably even the champion today if he woulda been given the shot. I think Parker would be champ. Breazeale. Bermane is a 2 time champion. Arreola might even finally have won a title vs Martin.

Martin wasn't ready or good enough to be a champion for real. Maybe the best thing that coulda happened to him long term boxing-wise is the Glazkov fight was declared a NC as many felt it shoulda been & he given another shot vs a uninjured Glazkov or another top contender & truly fight for the title.

Martin had one of the most unproven paths to a championship that I can recall. Fought 20 odd nobody's & then won the title, while him & his opponent were still feeling each other out basically, on an injury. I'm sure Martin's shopping spree this weekend don't give a f#ck about all dat doe.

I don't know. Whyte's not that good. Martin was caught off guard and too inexperienced to run the clock. He's much better than Whyte. People are dismissing Martin too soon and calling him a bum. No matter, he'll be back.

I feel the same. I really don't get the hype with Whyte. If anything he's on the same level as Martin or even worse, dudes best win is Brian Minto for crying out loud. He and Martin have been fighting the same level opposition and both got whooped by Joshua
