    Yea this is what I heard too. Which seems like a strange reason to make something a PED. And I'm curious if thats all that got it on the list or if there was more to it besides some athletes who won gold had it in their system.

          Being professional has responsibilities, why take the risk.

          He wouldn't have a leg to stand on under amateur regulations, not sure about this example.

          It's crazy that there are doubts as to whether the substance even enhances performance, AND it only just made the banned list.

            I missed this story the first time around. Looks like he was the first Russian boxer to pop for meldonium since the ban. He admitted it and was banned for 2 years.

            Boxer Igor Mikhalkin becomes the latest Russian to test positive for meldonium, and receives a two-year ban.
