Is UFC/MMA Salary Economics Affecting Boxing Purses?

A lot of boxers are incredibly overpaid. You have guys who have no fan base and can't sell out tickets somehow making millions.
The reason UFC guys are underpaid is because UFC is greedy and doesnt like to pay there athletes. UFC believes they are the reason there events sell, not the fighters, and in many cases they have a legitimate argument.Comment

Lmao..
Please QOUTE me where I said "all those mma guys make millions"
Quote or shut the **** up...
And you have to be an idiot to think Conor made just 1mil and Charles made 8 milComment

You really need to know what you're talking about before you start threads..
3rd tier boxers like demarco, julio Diaz, etc are making more per fight than Conor, jones, lesner, Rhonda, Cormier, gsp, diaz, etc.... Lmao, you're an idiot and don't know what they are talking about..have you always been this ******?Mma fighters get paid fine,,, top guys are bringing home millions,,
In ufc/mma,,, you get what you deserve and you are matched tough
In boxing, you get overpaid without being able to draw with a tuneup opponent, and then balk and price ourself out of a major fight...
Boxing is pathetic and is slowly dying away in America... UK domestic boxing scene is the only people doing it right and that's why UK boxing is thrivingComment

Top guys in mma do bring home millions... I stand by everything I said..
If top guys meant "all mma guys" like you claimed, then you might have a point, but you don't..
You have to be a complete idiot to think the top mma guys arent bringing home millions each fight..
I'm gonna break it down really slow and in small words so you understand..
-fighters have to declare their minimum to athletic commissions,,, floyd would declare 32 mill, Conor 1 mil, but it does not include any of the extra revenue they will recieve... Floyd stated to commissions that he was getting 32 mil for manny. Do you really think floyd was just getting that much and nothing more? You seem to think Conor only get what's stated, does that go for floyd as well,,, do you think floyd was only getting 32 mil... Is it starting to make sense yet, or should I bust out my crayonsComment

They do, because how long do UFC stars last? A year? 6 months? When is the last time someone outside of Anderson Silva or GSP lasted more than a year?A lot of boxers are incredibly overpaid. You have guys who have no fan base and can't sell out tickets somehow making millions.

Never?
Thats because their stars change hands over and over again.
The biggest problem with MMA is that you can have a fight like McGregor vs Diaz where Diaz is getting a beating, then in an instant gets a choke hold and a tapout.
It happens in boxing sometimes where someone gets caught with something ******, but we can count many times when the star went down, got their count, and played smart and won the fight.
In UFC, you go down, get submitted, and you are not the star anymore.Comment

Per official NSAC purse, Manny only made $7mill last night, yet he's guaranteed $20mill.....
McGregor made $13.5mill vs Aldo and around $8-9mill vs Diaz. Anderson Silva made over $3mill in his fight vs Nick Diaz. UFC like boxing, doesn't disclose the full purse. When Hopkins fought Dela Hoya, they actually got in trouble with the IBF over it. Nard's reported purse was less than $5mill, but made over $10mill for the fight.
To date, the response of the authorities in Nevada has been disheartening. Chief Deputy Attorney General Keith Kizer (who represents the NSAC) said last week, "Sometimes, particularly with foreign fighters, deals are structured so that a fighter is paid a certain amount for his participation in a fight and then he's paid a separate amount for the use of his name and likeness in promoting the bout or for publicity services in his native land." Kizer further suggested that perhaps Hopkins was paid $4,000,000 for the fight and $4,000,000 more for the use of his image in advertising.Comment

If top boxers fought each other as often as they do in the UFC boxing stars would burn out a lot quicker too. Thats the natural order of things in differently structured sports. They do, because how long do UFC stars last? A year? 6 months? When is the last time someone outside of Anderson Silva or GSP lasted more than a year?

If Adrien Broner was fighting a UFC-like schedule of opponents he'd be getting much less attention these days cuz he'd have 6 or 7 losses by now. And you can debate other guys who'd be catching more L's if top guys were fighting each other each fight out like happens in the UFC.
The UFC promotes events, Boxing promotes fighters. UFC is selling competitive fights, Boxing is selling Canelo, Joshua, Manny, Crawford. Thats the major difference with the UFC & Boxing.Comment

MMA fighters get paid like **** unless your McGregor, Rousey or Jones. If you they get paid fine you obviously don't have a ****ing clue. They ****d there fighters with the Reebok deal. Mid level guys could at least make 50-100k in sponsorships. But the reebok deal only gives them barely 10k haha. It's ****ing ******.
Haymon is making sure boxers get paid. Though he's still shady asf. But it's definitely not dying either lmao. PBC, HBO/Showtime still get millions of viewers. Boxing is on primetime again lol what is you smoking dawg.
I love both the sports. No comparison really. 2 different things.Comment

The ignorance or denial some boxing fans have about MMA pay is impressive lol. Its well known to even casual MMA fans that guys in the UFC get undisclosed PPV points. This has been known for about 10 years since Randy Couture leaked his UFC contract when he was in a dispute with them (google it if you doubt me). It wasn't openly discussed up til that point or even after all that much, but in recent years its even discussed in MMA media although for the most part its speculative about what deals fighters have since its undisclosed.
You said all that to say what?
Undisclosed ppv points?
So basically you don't knowComment
