There is no way that 43 year old, broken knee, inactive and small Marquez is a better opponent than the current version of Vargas. Stop bullshieeting here!

You added a year to Marquez. He did suffer a knee injury before the Alvarado fight, but by his own account, his body has been responding well. Marquez said it himself that he wouldn't fight on unless he was healthy. It's not like he needs the money; Marquez has done very well for himself.

Vargas is not anywhere near Marquez' level. Plus, we'll have a chance to see how well Marquez looks before he even fights Cotto, most likely. He wants a tune-up first.

For Cotto, Vargas is a relatively easy fight. A Cotto-Marquez fight would be between two legends of the sport.
