Ya'll are really starteing to overrate the hell out of Roy Jones...ya'll act like none of his losses count and that he was actually fighting top fighters and he wasn't..I was a huge Roy fan but The Toney win was great but look at the list of champions he defeated and tell me its an ATG list
Jorge Vaca, Jorge Fernando Castro, Bernard Hopkins, Thulani Malinga, James Toney, Vinny Pazienza, Eric Lucas, Mike McCallum, Montell Griffin, Virgil Hill, Lou Del Valle, Otis Grant, Reggie Johnson, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Clinton Woods, John Ruiz, Antonio Tarver, Felix Trinidad, Jeff Lacy
I don't have a problem with Floyd being number one although I think Roy Jones deserves it. In general the list seems to confuse accomplishment with p4p talent. At no point in his career was Bernard Hopkins ever a top 3 p4p fighter, so how can he be rated that high over 25 years? I rank Hopkins very highly but he's not a top p4p fighter.
Mayweather has too weak a resume for that. It's good but even bums can wrack up a ton of wins with little chance of losing when facing overmatched opponents in relation to their own talent.
Looking at Mayweather's resume it's alot of average fighters who have been beaten plenty of times and a few past it greats. Pacquiao and Hoya are by far his best wins.
you dont realize the ***** storm that awaits after you created this thread...GGG, Pac fans are gonna go ape*****
Why it's hard to argue
I'm not floyds biggest fan but I can't see anyone else above him in the past 25 years
Do people realize that's going back to 1990
