He's largely ignored by fans now! The only time his name is brought up is when people talk about how weak GGG's resume is. He bought the line that fighting GGG would bring him more exposure and a chance at bigger fights. He hasn't fought since and was just talking about quitting boxing to become a fireman. And he only got paid $100k. He could've made that in 3 fights last year, stayed busy, built up house name, then fought another top middleweight for more money. Everyone involved in that fight should be ashamed of themselvesHis biggest purse to date, an opportunity to dethrone GGG which would have lead to a rematch and even bigger purse. Date on HBO and now a date on Showtime in another fight that could lead him to title contention,
Without the GGG fight he would be largely ignored by ignorant fans who throw around terms like ESPN level fighter, as if fighters don't have the right to move up in the boxing world.
Like I said two months after a fight with top rated Murray he took a turn up fight with Monroe. In this era guys usually only fight one or two too fighters. GGG did that in 2015.Comment

He's being f**ked over by his promoter now. Thet can't get him the big fights. They made him there butt of jokes with that PPV, and here's considered a can crusher and ducker because of Sanchez & Loeffler's statement regarding Ward & 154-168. This wouldn't be happening of he were with Golden Boy or Top RankHe was really ****ed over by his promoter in those days. The best thing K2 did was get him active because it made it much harder for all the duckers to keep ducking. It's unbelievable how he couldn't even get top 10 fighters in the ring with him. They were turning down chances at title shots to avoid Golovkin.Comment

GGG was aiming for 4 fights last year, may was the date he was offered from HBO. The date wasn't meant for a high profile fight it was meant for a stay busy fight. The know the type of fights all fighters have even the ones that fight once a year.
Modern era fights 60's to now all fight 1 or 2 top contenders a year. GGG did that, he wasn't obiligated to fight Lara, he could have but instead he fought Lemule and Murray two fights most were asking for.Comment

Why are you asking me for something that's not public knowledge? What's known is that fights on that contract had combined main event purses of 1.5, 1.35 and 1.6m. You gotta be a really desperate hater to think those came with 4m+ in license fees. And ignorant of boxing to bootComment

Bull****. He was mentioned as a possible opponent for Canelo many time by the fans. People constantly say they would like to see him fight Lemule. Hell posters on here was saying BJS should fight him instead of Bursak. He's largely ignored by fans now! The only time his name is brought up is when people talk about how weak GGG's resume is. He would never have been mention as a possible opponent for any of those guys if he hadn't fought GGG. Fighters on ESPN make $20000 a fight so you're math is way off in that regard and HBO and Showtime weren't calling him up anytime soon.
And let's not forgot FNF ended soon after, so no ESPN dates for him.Comment

You claimed Lara didn't fit in the budget. So I assumed you had knew the budget. So you're talking outta your ass making stuff up. HBO pays for the fight, not there purses. You don't know the licensing fee just because you know the purse. Why are you asking me for something that's not public knowledge? Nobody is looking for Monroe Jr. If he was in demand he'd have a fight by now. He's mentioned when people want to clown on GGG's resume. You're the president of the Willie Monroe fan club now?Bull****. He was mentioned as a possible opponent for Canelo many time by the fans.
