Comments Thread For: Canelo's Manager: We'd Fight Pacquiao, But Khan is The Focus

Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso, manager of WBC middleweight world champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs), says a fight with Manny Pacquiao would certainly be interesting to them, but their full focus at the moment is on Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs).

Am surprised this fight was never discuss by Arum and De la Hoya before this, when the "Cold war" was over you would think tthat would help push fights like this one....I guess Richard shaefer is still the one holding those two company back doe uh.

Pacquaio has never weighed in north of 147 and he's 37 years old. Canelo would outweigh him by 20+ lbs on fight night, this match would never happen.

Canelo who walks in at 175lbs really ought to be looking at fighting super middleweights or at least middleweights , he calls himself the middleweight champion but wants all the middleweights to come down in weight to 155 lbs or up in weight ....absolutely pathetic and fighting a chinny unproven welterweight doesn't do it .

So Manny who says his best weight is around 144lbs but could still make 140 lbs at 37 years of age is a fair fight with a guy who walks in at light heavy in his mid twenties...I think this really shows how little confidence they really have in Canelo, fighting Khan shows that too !

The WBC should have never sanctioned a title fight for 154 @ 150, and again, they should have never sanctioned a title fight for 160 @ 155. I don't blame Pacquiao or Canelo, the WBC is the one at fault!

A fight above WW is a very bad idea for the Pacman. It's also not a good look for Canelo, who would be making a habit of challenging much smaller men, and who would get little credit from fans for beating a 37yo former flyweight.
