I think he has at least a couple more great albums in him.

Not only is his first challenge Anthony Joshua, an undefeated knockout machine who I consider the future of the heavyweight definition until proven otherwise, but he is even fighting him in his home country, which a lot of champs, like Ward, didn't have the balls to do (I'm not hating on Ward here, I consider him the P4P #1, but that doesn't mean his behaviour is always as good as his skills). Charles Martin is doing the sport a big favour that he wasn't forced to do and I think he deserves a lot of respect for that. He has shown that he has the heart of a champion and if more fighters did like him, boxing would be so much better than it is now.
1000x yes, not enough respect being shown for Martin. We have a very exciting fight to watch this Saturday because Martin is willing to put his belt on the line, but people still find reasons to hate this guy.

Good post. I agree completely. The guy isn't the best, and he was basically gifted the belt, but it's not his fault the other guy got injured, nor is it his fault he was fighting for a belt that should have never left Fury's hands either. I like Martin, and am rooting for the guy, and you are absolutely right, fighters like this are good for boxing.

respect for not hanging around too long, Mr. Martin....
Exactly...he took the best payday available to him. Joshua in england=$$$. What marketability does he have to sit on his title and fight nobodies? He would risk losing it without making any real money.

lol. you guy's are completely missing the point
any of those guy's would go to the uk in a heartbeat for 7-8 million dollars.
It's got absolutely nothing to do with heart or courage and everything to do with cashing out.

It doesn't take Einstein to figure out they could make more money in this fight than they could in his entire career.
He would of never been able to 'hold the belt hostage' because he would of got sparked out by a complete nobody even if he chose to fight bum's.

I respect anyone who gets in the ring. Don't get me wrong I'll still be critical of guys for their skills or resume or even some who I think shouldn't be in the ring in the first place, but every fighter gets a level of respect from me just for getting into the ring for fans entertainment & attempting to achieve their own goals in the sport.

What's your point? It's prize fighting. I don't see how anything you just said here refutes my post, lol. All I did was point out reasons to like the guy. I didn't even mention any other fighters, so who "those guys" might be I don't know, but I have no beef with them, lol.

If all goes well Martin should expose Joshua and set up a fight with Fury.
