I consider that it was a good stoppage; he was running trying to escape from Broner's punches.

The stoppage was terrible. Theophane at least deserved go out on his shield. AB is a good fighter and he has some power but this was a horrible showing for him. I actually had the fight even. Broner doesn't throw enough and his defense was horrible.

The rest of Broner's career if he even has one will be filled with fighting fighters of Theophane's level. When he steps up he'll just get beat again
If he had the work ethic he could be so much better, he's got a good chin too.
Broner Garcia would be one to watch, but Angel is very risk averse and Broner may not want another all action fighter anyway. If he wants to go to 147 imagine him in the ring with Brook, the size difference would be too much for him, and Brook would demolish him.

Theophane is a journeyman. Nobody would even know who he was now if he wasn't linked to Mayweather. He's just a glorified journeyman.
I think Broner is declining already anyway.

The stoppage was too premature, I agree. And stamina has been one of Broner's problems for far too long. He took 3 of those middle rounds off and let Theophane get back into the fight.

The stoppage was horrible. For the one thousandth time, I say you have to let fights come to a conclusive ending.

There was a pretty evident low blow from Broner that should have been ruled as such. The referee should have given Teophane the mandatory up-to-five minutes to recover from the foul. Also, Broner should have been penalized with a one-point penalty and shoulld have lost that round.
Instead, the referee let the fight go on when Teophane was hurting from the deliberate and cowardly low blow, and he (kind of foolishly) signaled to the useless referee that he had been hurt by a low blow (or at least that's what some of us think he was trying to do) but the incompetent referee screwed him even further by stopping the fight in favor of Broner.
Conclusion:
Broner "won by KO" because an incompetent referee made three blatant mistakes in his favor in a very short period of time. Sometimes boxing sucks. Broner could have won legitimately and convincingly that one, but instead, yet again he has gotten another big spot in his already tainted record.Last edited by sterilizer; 04-03-2016, 06:51 PM.

Bad fight, bad stoppage. The fight was barely going to start that point. Unfortunate too- it was a lively crowd ready for better action
