As soon as I saw the ref was luis Pabon I told my wife watch this ******.
He always seems to be involved in some controversial BS. Sure enough, he didn't disappoint.

Wasn't on the ref this time. Theophane gestured to the ref instead of taking a knee. That's on him.

yea it was a bad stoppage, ashley was complaining of the low blow.. but the fight could have been stopped on round 7, and also eventually it would have been on round 10 or so if it would have continued

Ashley was brave, but Broner had the hometown edge. He didn't really need it, but they gave him what they could. Put this fight in the UK and Ashley would have gotten more time and maybe a controversial win.

Theophane seemed to be clawing his way back into the fight but he was in deep trouble in that round. Possibly slightly premature stoppage but he took a good beating, Broner's punches were hurting him almost every round.

Tarver was talking about it the whole fight. It catches up with you in the later rounds when you have to cut that much weight and struggle to do so.
Broner seemed to be slowing down. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if the fight had gone one.
Personally, I think Broner was just too big for this guy and would have caught him with something big eventually but Theopane should have been given his show.

He was on his way to surviving again, and the fight was 4-4 in my eyes. Theopane was stopped because of lack of communication, the ref thought Theo signaled to stop the fight but he didn't.
Agreed...bad to throw your hand up like that tho. Could definitely be taken as the I've had enough sign. Broner was slowing down and theopane was working the body nicely.

If Theophane had a bit more power Broner would have probably gotten taken out, that's embarrassing and as a fighter Broner is never gonna learn. I liked him a lot when he took the approach of being the aggressor but now he doesn't fully commit to it, he'll move forward whilst doing that ****** lean back counter that hardly ever works for him. Broner fights like someone that thinks he has the tools to pull off the moves he attempts but really, he doesn't have the tools, the people around him ain't telling him the obvious.

The network, the ref, and the commentating staff wanted nothing but for Broner to win in spectacular fashion. If it wasn't going to happen on its own, they took the next best option.
