  • Comments Thread For: Johann Duhaupas Crushes Robert Helenius With Big Knockout

Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland - Former heavyweight world title challenger Johann "Reptile" Duhaupas (34-3, 21 KOs) knocked out previously unbeaten Robert "The Nordic Nightmare" Helenius (22-1, 13 KOs) in six rounds to capture the vacant WBC silver heavyweight title.

Johann Duhaupas just knocked out Robert Helenius in four. Broke his nose and dropped him twice for the stoppage.

How does Wilder's lopsided win over him look now in retrospect? Pretty good, I reckon.

Helenius has looked very poor after his layoff.

Wilder's stock goes up with this upset even if Helenius has been a question mark since the Chisora fight. Eric Molina is fighting Adamek today too. Wilder might get a double bump if Molina can score a W over an old, but respectable Adamek.

Duhaupas is a tough dude. He had never been stopped before Wilder, even by a roided Teper. I actually think he could be a tough gatekeeper for the next few years..

Absolutely. With how faded Adamek is nowadays that's a very real possibility.

Now we only need Szpilka to get a win over a name opponent and Wilder's title run suddenly doesn't seem all that bad at all.

Duhaupas certainly is not that bad, not the greatest athlete but not a stiff either especially considering how big and rangy he is. A good gatekeeper for most guys entering the top level

Spzilka already has a win over Adamek. He's a very solid fighter..
