    Cotto vs Lara at 154

    Who wins?

and why the hell nobody is demanding for this match, clearly the biggest match at 154?

With Canelo focused on making a name for himself in the 155 division, these two are the biggest names at JMW

Lara the current clear #1 at 154 vs future HOF'er Cotto the biggest name in the division

I used to think Lara would school Cotto, but after watching the boricua's much improved movement and stamina in the Canelo match, I fancy his chances to win a close decission

Look at what Trout did to Cotto and multiply that x3. Factor in the square root of boredom and it's a loss for Cotto and for the fans as well.

That wasn't the real Cotto in there vs Trout, though. It still counts, don't get me wrong; it's the fighter's responsibility to prepare for a match, but I can't honestly use that fight as a gauge for Cotto's effectiveness against boxers. It wouldn't be accurate. Cotto's training issues have been well documented throughout his career.

As to the Lara fight, I don't think it'll happen due to economic reasons. Roc Nation wants to secure Cotto a relatively big (economically) fight, as it would increase their profits with regard to the three-fight contract. For that reason, stylists are probably not at the top of the list. As Roach said, it would be best for Cotto's career right now if he engaged in a fan-friendly fight.

I don't know what's up with the whole Marquez situation, but that's a great fight. I wonder if Cotto will just wait for it. I would like a fight before then, but it'd be best against someone who's "up there." If it's just some random fighter, then it loses a bit of entertainment value. Oh well, the more Cotto gets to train with Roach, the better it is for him, anyway.

Lara could suffer like he suffered against Angulo if Cotto lands some big hooks. So it's hard to predict. Lara should win but you don't know with Cotto.

High altitude training in big bear wasn't good for him and his family. His body didn't adjust well, that's why he had to cut way much more weight once he was in New York. Then at fight night he was too slow. Pedro Diaz is a good coach, but he changed Cotto too much. And he had that brilliant idea to let to sparring with Golovkin for the Trout fight, that surely didn't benefit him...

Brilliant!! You got excuses for his other losses too?

I just answered the question. I'm not one to make excuses for Cotto. He lost and I wasn't surprised about that because of the points I've made.

Cotto's main problem against Trout was that he was facing someone who was fresh, healthy and pretty good, as opposed to a cripple, a cyclopse, a drained Sheila beater and a one-legged ***.
