Do you believe that boxing is a dangerous sport and it only exists solely on the purpose to entertain the audience for a few quid?

By and large yes. But competitive sport has its own value regardless of whether or not anyone is watching.

Do you believe majority of boxers only box due to the possibility of making a few millions throughout the career with a risk of long-term health issues or even death?

Pro-boxers probably do, yes. But for many it's also something that gave them purpose as young men and kept them out of trouble. It's also probably the one thing they are really good at, giving them both pride and an identity.

Where's your stand on the sport itself and do you believe there's more to it than just getting into a ring and trying to win a fight to make money?

This deserves a long answer, but in short, yes. Boxing is the sport all other sports aspire to being. In other sports, terms like 'a fierce battle' are metaphors. In boxing they are not.

Do you believe a lot of young talent ain't allowed to pursue their dream of becoming a professional boxer due to their parents lack of knowledge regarding the sport e.g. they ain't allowing their son/daughter do boxing because it's too dangerous?

Possibly. Wouldn't call it a lack of knowledge. It's a perfectly legitimate concern.

If you people believe boxing is too dangerous of a sport why hasn't it been banned and explain why you want it to be banned?

It's not about thinking it's dangerous. It is dangerous. I think banning it would be both pointless and harmful. You would just force it underground, making it more dangerous and exploitative. Fist-fighting will never die.

and that's the beauty of boxing.
This is a bullshit fallacy promoted by Floyd fans to counter the 'boring' accusations.

Wilfred Benitez is in a wheelchair. Willie Pep spent his final years in constant care due to dementia pugilistica. I challenge anyone to translate a Pernell Whitaker interview nowadays. It's dangerous no matter who you are and how you fight.

100% when everything is executed correctly (refs, trainers, comissions, doctors, fighters fight within the rules)

Its competence that gets fighters hurt 99% of the time, a ref not enforcing the rules or unable to protect a fighter in those crucial moments, a fighter whos a coward and rabbit punches, headbutts, etc etc, doctors who allow a fight to go on when it should be stopped, trainers not listening to their fighters concerns that something is wrong, even the hospital who dont recognize a concern immediately till its too late.

So many fail safe in boxing which in theory should prevent 99% of these crucial injuries (death) but problem with that they are all dependent on humans and human error is the man culprit of this sports "DANGER" zone.

Floyd didn't just get away with it because he's a defensive master though.

Hello, I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on the controversial sport as there are always people who believe that boxing is a too dangerous of a sport as well other martial arts sports however I want to talk about just Boxing as a sport.

I wanted to ask a few questions regarding the sport and amateur boxing

Do you believe that boxing is a dangerous sport and it only exists solely on the purpose to entertain the audience for a few quid?

Do you believe majority of boxers only box due to the possibility of making a few millions throughout the career with a risk of long-term health issues or even death?

P.S. I am a young 17 year old who is a passionate boxing fan and aspiring boxer, the reason why I've created this thread is to for research and opinions about the sport as am doing a documentary regarding the sport and am looking for your views as this forum is used by passionate boxing fans.
There's a laundry list of reasons that make make boxing dangerous.

Secondly, only a chosen few will be lucky enough to make a million dollars in their career.

If anything most parents are looking out for their kids if they're preventing them from boxing.

It's not safe, that's for sure but other sports have as many, if not more injuries, examples include rugby, football, NFL and so on. Some sports even have more fatalities per year than boxing.

I guess it's all relative. As long as the person taking part or watching, knows the risks involved, then it's fine to me.

Also, TS, are you from the UK? Because here we have probably the best medical care available during boxing matches, leagues above almost any other countries.
