With something as important as categorizing the best of a time period, it should not be left up to chance, or to what you personally imagine will happen.
And I just notice they listed Tito Trinidad as #11, while having Cotto as #21. That is bewildering. Cotto has not only accomplished more than Tito, but he also would likely have beaten Trinidad in a prime vs prime match-up. This list is a popularity contest. -_-

Absolutely Cotto is more accomplished than Trinidad. Was he better, probably not. But he accomplished more. History always treats you right when you were the first to do something. Cotto was the first Puerto Rican boxer to win titles in 4 weight classes, and he was relatively small and short.

Tyson might not even be on the list

And yes, his upset TKO over Sergio Martinez made him the consensus MW champion of the world according to The Ring, TBRB, Boxingscene.com, and ESPN. Quite literally, Cotto was the man to beat at 160. How legitimate anyone saw that in hindsight does not matter at this point. Fact is he was underdog, according to fans and media even to a "50% Martinez" he won't win, but he won by TKO and props should be given to him for that.
