He had a good point...you dont get points for calling out a guy who started at 130 when its good fighters your size or a little bigger

GGG has been a middleweight a long time and comes in the ring in the 170s...other great fighters have moved up...GGG is supposed to be p4p top ten....prove it by fighting another elite fighter...otherwise he doesnt deserve it...GGG has elite talent...not elite resume...imo he isnt top ten p4p until he fights better comp
I don't think ggg gets any points for calling floyd out...he was just tryin to get that payday. Unfortunately that's what boxing has been reduced to...gain a bit of a following and shamelessly try to get a $$$ fight. It's good for the fighters, not so much for the fans. Guys now make more money from a couple high profile fights than they would in their whole career if they just fought everyone in front of them.

As far as ward vs ggg goes...it should have been made at 164 and that's that. All this back and forth between fans of either wanting the other guy to move all they way was ******. It's like fans these days don't even want fights to be made if it doesn't favor their guy.

Yeah but Gennady isnt proclaiming he is a christian and neither did he call himsef the goddamn SON OF GOD. Also, I am not christian either, Im just pointing out the hypocrisy with coWard who will wake up with Satans pitchfork up his ass in the depths of hell!!

Thats like working a 9/5 and you bust your azz everyday, come on time, with 95% effiency rate just to see the guy who calls out once a week with a 70% efficiency get paid more than you....IJS

164 wasnt good considering Ward wasnt active at the time....would have meant more to beat Ward at his best and not drained.

Ward has the better resume, is the more proven fighter....why should he make all those sacrifices when he hasnt had to weigh below 68 in years.

Kinda lame when his team said Froch, Degale and Chavez were ok at 168

they wanted to take a little out of ward because they knew a 100% Ward was gonna be a MAJOR obtstacle.

Sad thats what they do now....fight the decent guys at the full weight and try to drain the better fighters.

I can understand floyd vs Canelo or Pac vs Margarito....mayweather and Pac were waaaaay smaller

Ward has what...ten pounds on him naturally....Pac and Floyd did that regularly....mayweather fought guys 15 pounds bigger than he was fight night and still was stylin'

That's an idealistic way of looking at it. Boxing has always been about who puts butts in seats...and now, who sells ppv. If ward doesn't have a good enough fan base to sell, he should try to figure out why that is. This trend of fighters thinking they deserve the world is partially responsible for a lot of good fights not being made. There is a long line of incredibly skilled fighters who got short money throughout their careers...ward is no great exception. I've always gravitated toward fundamentally skilled boxers, but i still don't find ward terribly entertaining. I don't know exactly what it is, but he just lacks something.

              [U]bwahahahahahaha....touche

for real though that ****s lame....remember when guys like Gatti, Hamed, etc in the 90s-00s making more money than Floyd....even before he turned 30 he had a hall of fame resume, just to see guys not as talented make more money...why? they got hit more? it was exciting?

I'd be pissed too...thats where that money persona came from...when he was kicking ass from 96-05 no one really cared because he wasnt controversial, he was a nice kid, and made it look easy

He took that out on Gatti....ten year pro....8 years as champion and someone like Gatti is on PPV regularly. This is what happens when you mess with a mans money lol

when people loved to hate him and paid to see him lose, thats when the $$$ started rolling in.

shouldnt have to be a jigaboo to get paid what you deserve[

One guy fights at 160 and wasn't planning on moving up and the other fights at 168. Make it in the middle or wait til the other guy moves. I don't even know how big that fight would have been anyway. I feel like if it was worth a lot of money, it probably would have been made. These fans trying to dictate who should move up and when is ridiculous too. Just cuz one guy chose that route, doesn't mean everyone has to. There's fighters that campaigned at one weight almost their entire careers. Ggg is not a big middleweight, obviously moving up is a big risk and the best money was with cotto-canelo, so i don't blame his team for looking for those fights.

im putting myself in the fighters position...any working man's position...if im better than you...at least my gaurantee should be higher....let the draw get the live gate money or the side money

that like seeing a great college power forward player get a huge contract because of the fans, someone like tim duncan is consistent and gets you the W night in and night out

or a guy has one decent year, he and lebron are free agents but because lebron is old news the young guy brings in fans he gets a higher and better contract....its about who is winning and the best everywhere else when it involves compensation.

                  Lebron would be friggin pissed.

its about money of course....legacy-wise...a win over the winner(ward) means more than a win over the loser(froch) or a never was like chavez jr.

Ward is a top man, it's hard to dislike the guy. Only ***** fanboys of rival fighters got bad things to say about him

He'll cement his place as the P4P #1 fighter by the end of this year
