Parker isnt an english softchin a la Price so he has that going for him but big step up, he is going to need real boxing ability here, Takam is not just strong and durable he can fight

To last poster the boring speech pattern is a NZ trait, they dont like to show too much emotion in case people think they look way out of leftfield when the rest of the herd moves on lol
Josephs a good guy, he has a personality and is a talented pianist, he just poker facing it atm I guess

Yeah, you should probably look him up. Here's a HL of his fight against Povetkin. He's a legit top ten guy with a very tenacious high activity style, way better than anyone Parker's fought to date. This'll be make or break for Joe, and I'm not entirely sure which.

This is a big step up for Parker but I think Takam's aggressive style is tailor made for him. I think Takam needs to be more defensive and avoid planting his feet and trading.

Thanks for posting that, that was pretty great. Povetkin sure looks different.

A lot of Takam punches are kind of slappy, I think Parker can handle him. If Takam try's leaning in and getting lazy the way he does with povetkin, Parker will take his head off.

Fighting like that with a guy Who's bigger than you is a big change from doing against someone his size. but that again I'm only judging him by this one highlight clip.

Takam does show a lot of angles inside, which could be a tough adjustment for Parker, but Parker is pretty accurate and throws a lot of punches in bunches.

Takam handled Thompson and Grant pretty easily so I don't think he has a problem fighting taller men. OK, Grant is old as the hills, but Triple T was still pretty handy at that point, having just come off a competitive showing against Pulev.

About Takam's punches, he does slap a bit, but not as much as someone like Chisora, and he carries quite a bit of heavy handedness and accuracy to make up for his lack of explosiveness. Also, and you won't have known this just watching the HL vid, but he carries a very stiff ramrod jab which he uses quite well to get his opponent on the backfoot.

If Parker beats him it'll be a major sign that he's ready for the big time. Takam might not be high profile but he's very good.

Yeah def did not see the jab there. But Parker hving to deal with an educated jab could be bad news for him.

And yeah I agree he def does not slap as much as Chisora, but Chisora is freaking garbage.

I don't Know how many educated jabs Joseph has been in front of, but that def could be a game changer. Not easy to get off combinations against a good jab.

I think if Joseph can consistently find his range he will be alright, but if he gets frustrated early I'd be worried.

Good fight but Chisora vs pulev is also a IBF eliminator.

Good test to see were Parker is at this stage of his career. Does that mean the winners of the eliminators have to fight for a final eliminator?
