So Kovalev should get no credit for beating an inactive and past his prime fighter, good to know. By that logic, Kovalev will be humiliated if he loses to such a fighter.

Well it is true he has nothing left to prove....

Barrera is an excellent defender, with an impressive 282-27 amateur record and 17-0 pro record before Ward, who was 114-5 as an amateur, took his 0. Ward had not fought a top rated fighter since Edwin Rodriguez 3 years prior. It was an okay performance for Ward, in which he nearly swept the fight. When you perform in a form that you are not your best and you almost get a complete shut out anyway versus a guy with that good a amateur and pro record, then i'd say you are pretty good and should not retire.

Domenic Wade was 167-10 and is 18-0 As a pro....same level as Barrera pretty much...not good

Ward looked pretty good...he's just not someone who puts guys away unfortunately...would have been nice to see him finish him impressively

Wade has shown to have poor skills already, he got a gift vs a 50 year old Sam Soliman. Barrera was the opposite, he showed promise before Ward, and even in the Ward fight he showed he can defend and box.

Who did Bareera look so impressive against to get to that #1 spot? Lacy? Murat?
Wade and Barerra are no different...

                    Yes.

I'll see how Dwayne Wade looks vs GGG, if he goes in there and shows his poor skills again vs GGG like he did when he stepped up to Soliman and doesn't rise to the occasion then it would be no coincidence.

Barrera did what he had to do with the level of opposition.

So if GGG beats Wade it won't be because of GGG's skill set?
