    Andre Ward should retire

He looked pitiful against Barrera. He can't fight at 175. How long would Barrera have lasted with Stevenson, never mind Kovalev. Ward should retire before he gets hurt.

This is not something a fan of the sport would say.

It ain't all about knockouts and no he didn't look pitiful at all, he looked rusty. The fact that he's performed considerably better than that against better opponents tells us that he was rusty.

After watching the fight again, he looked worse to me than the first time i watched it. Chalk it up to the weight, ring rust, age or whatever...but there's a noticeable decline. I've always thought he was the guy with the tools to beat ggg or kovalev, but an effort like that won't cut it. I think the inactivity at that stage of his career didn't help. We may never see the "old" andre ward again.

Yeah hang them up Ward. Nobody wants to see your talented behind fighting anymore. Sure as heck don't want to see the best against the best in the light heavyweight division. Don't want to see you potentially take down the king of the division whom people are saying will knock you out. Certainly don't want to pay for a PPV that will be worth the money. And most of all, we don't want to see a potentially great fighter making it into the Hall of fame. Absolutely zero benefit to Ward staying in the game.

He was a bit rusty but still schooled the kid...Barerra was certainly no world beater but he got beat easily... Ward would beat GGG but Kovalev is a different animal, he's big, strong, aggressive, has a great jab, good movement, uses feints....

Ward should have at least one more fight before that one....50/50 after the tuneups...
