  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach: Canelo Probably Won't Fight GGG Until 2018!

Abel Sanchez, trainer for IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), does not expect a fall showdown with WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs).

Abel is right. This matchup is unlikely to happen while Oscar is protecting Alvared from a KO loss. So much for Oscar saying he want to bring the best fights to the fans. He's full of ****.

lol just like abel and GGGs handlers are protecting GGG from fighting ward at 168, so they wanted a catchweight HAHHAHA

so much for triple g saying he wants to fight everyone.

Canelo can pretend he's not a middleweight but in reality he is so why the excuses. GGG isn't a super middleweight!

You read my mind exactly what I was going to say couldn't have said it better. Abel talks way too much. Reminds me of Freddie roach before pacquiao was ko'd. People hanging on to his every word and then after everybody thought he was delusional after. Same with Abel when ggg loses

I hope ggg gets some real fights before he's too old. Shame he wasted so much of his early career.

Damn, so GGG ducked Ward and will have nothing to show for it? What a shame. We could have probably been having GGG vs Ward right around this time now if it wasn't for that. Bum train will ride on I guess.

Cause he couldn't get a contender to face him in his own division. So HBO asked, how about Ward? GGG: sure. Ward: bad time right now. Meanwhile he does the business, becomes a star, so 154-168 for money fights, until he's done unifying 160. We're pretty close, Canelo is about to turn over the belt
